Jaguar working on F-Type Coupe R-S & R-S GT Versions, article/pics:
Article link: http://www.worldcarfans.com/11311226...-confirmed-and
So the 550 HP F type coupe R is only just the beginning...there will be an R-S coupe with over 600 HP and then an R-S GT with closer to 700 HP...these will have even faster transmissions, lighter weight, wider wheels/tires, carbon brakes, etc.. etc...
Would any of you guys consider an F-Type Coupe R-S or R-S GT as a viable alternative to an AMG or Porsche? They should be not too hard to tune since they are forced induction....any thoughts? Cool stuff to think about for sure....

Would I? Yes. You've got to be blind, or a liar to say no to at least considering these beauties. Buying, well, depends on the finished product and the drive, but consider, no question.

I'd consider one. I was going to test drive the f-type V8 when I was shopping, but at the last minute, I decided not to because frankly I knew it couldn't temp me away from the 911. That said, I'm not a convertible guy, if the F-type coupe was out a few months back, I would have been more likely to test drive it. Check back with me in about 2 years when my 911 lease is up However, I'll likely be getting into a new GT3 or TurboS Depends on how good business is.

I would have liked to get just the coupe R. Unfortunatly after realistically looking at pricing it would have been $30,000+ more expensive than what I paid for my 507. To me that is an unrealistic gap. Also given Jaguar's reliability track record I would like to see how this new line performs over time. They are beautiful cars but for cost to fun factor AMG is hard to beat.

The f type is bite the back of your hand, pretty. Have you seen the rendering of the shooting brake?

Now that is one good looking car
Looks a lot better than a c63

^ Keep in mind that is a render. I doubt it comes with all the flare especially a base f-type. Otherwise I bet you're looking at spending black series money which makes the c that much more appealing. But up to 700hp stock? Lets see it to believe it.

2013 C63 coupe P31
If that looks like the render above it could very well be my next car depending on the price.. The F-Type Coupe is already such a beautiful car, this thing is even better.
Oh, and the noise it makes.... :O

Yeah
Yeah its basically a rendering trying to get as close as possible to what a 2016 model F Type R-S is going to look like...the R-S GT should be a lot more extreme than this even....
and yeah the sound the regular R Coupe makes is just bad ***, so the R-S will probably sound even meaner and the R-S GT even meaner than that....we are truly living in a new golden age of sick cars....

If you look at what they've done with the XK, the horsepower hasn't gone up that substantially, so to think that the small "entry-level" coupe is going to have 700HP, i think, is a little off
No matter what, the existing iterations are awesome and enhancements can only get better

I was offered a brand new F Type V8S convertible for 3k off invoice but couldn't buy it because of the lexus that I can't get rid of. I already have 2 car loans open, won't be approved for a 3rd one (not that I can afford having 3 car payments at the same time lol)

no
callmiro, the absolute top of the line most extreme model may end up close to 700 horsepower the article says, not the entry level. the base V6 has 340 hp supercharged V6, the next model has 380 hp, then the R model has 550 hp, then the R-S should have 600+ and the the R-S GT will sit at the very top of the top of the model range. hope this clears up any misunderstandings.

I just doubt the R-S GT will have anything close to 700hp. I think thats just some bloggers wet dream to get more people to read his articles. With the GTs they've relied more on suspension tuning and weight savings rather than piling on more horses.
We all benefit no matter which direction they go.....its a sick little machine
