Hit a pothole.

My tire started to loose pressure then exploded, changed the tire. Now my steering wheel is off centre by a lot, rims is also tilted. dash is saying eps inoperative see operators manual and run flate tire indicator inoperative.

Sounds pretty serious right?

You've bent or broken something. Don't know what EPS is, do you mean TPMS? The spare doesn't have a TPMS sensor (if your vehicle is equipped with those) and has a smaller diameter than a full-size tire if your car uses the ABS sensors so that would be normal. I'd get the front end looked after.

You probably damaged your control arm or somthing.
By the way when did you buy your C63 and which one did you buy? The damaged one?

You have damaged or bent a tie rod or control arm. Toe usually effects steering wheel center, unless there is a significant drop/increase in camber. Sounds like you have a bit of both, I would get it on an alignment rack ASAP to see what is bent/broken. You may want them to check the wheel bearing as well to ensure there is no runout/play.

Yup, get it to an alignment shop right away!

Based off of the angles that are thrown off and the way the vehicle takes to the adjustments they make you can also tell which arms are damaged. Let me know the results !

I can get control arms for about $150 along with tie rods so I can't imagine it will be too expensive but let me know if he doesn't have a good source for parts

Potholes are not cheap endeavors...that is why they have rim/tire insurance.

The real question is what is your insurance deductible? You likely have a couple of things wrong, tie rod, control arm, strut tower...all could be bent.

Or could just be a bent tie rode...and you could get off cheap...all depends

I would make sure they check everything well. An alignment rack will show what is out of spec etc.

Had a friend just go through this with an A6...bent the control arm, $900. What the dealer didn't catch was a bad wheel bearing as a result of the impact...had to go back for the work which insurance did not cover since it was not part of the initial claim - another $400. Wheel was $750...tires for front $800. Point is it gets expensive fast.

Good luck

He did a visual inspection because the lifer is being used. Looks like the sway bar is bent but I'm pretty sure there more damage. I will let you know the parts I need.

Presumably you mean the sway bar end links (all sway bars I have ever seen were bent by design). Get them to also check the bushings on the control arms - I have seen these cut right through after a hard pothole hit.

I'd immediately file a claim with the City of Calgary risk management...I'm sure they will pay if you proceed correctly with the claim...which may mean estimates before repairs..

I did call them and email them today, hopefully they will help me out. As of now it is determined that the control arm is bent and they found oil around my suspension (they think it's the hydrophilic from the strut)

They will pay..maybe not 100% (they may want to pro-rate parts and tire wear) but stand your ground and if needed threaten legal...we're not into the thaw yet and the trails are already nearly unbearable up here...and thats is with big winters on

A little FYI based on personal experience. My M5 was clobbered on the right rear quarter by a lady who ran a stop sign. The (factory-owned) dealership repaired it and checked alignment which the car passed. Fast forward three months after I drove the car and additional 6K miles - although the car drove OK I couldn't help but feel that visually something was amiss - it just seemed the wheel was slightly shifted to the rear in the wheel well compared to the other side.

I decided to take my own measurements and sure enough, there was a 3/4" difference front to rear on each side and a 3/8" different side to side, measured from edge to edge on each pair of wheels. Needless to say it was PITA to resolve but a factory technical rep flew out to look at it and found a bent rear trailing arm which he determined to be caused by the original accident. The other party's insurance paid for the repair but I would never take a accident-related suspension diagnosis for granted again.

Also a thought..if you were to put a claim through insurance it may show on an accident report as an incident..

It WILL show as at-fault accident and your premium WILL go up when you renew your policy.

Calgary is in a perpetual freeze-thaw cycle.

It's been above zero for the last week. Our winters are usually much more mild than Edmonton. Love the chinook for heat, but hate it for the dirty cars.

Just an update. It turns out the control arm is only scratch but the major damage is the end rod of the steering rack is bent in a 90 degree angle. Strange because I don't remember hitting something that hard.

If your tires exploded after you hit a pothole, you hit that hole very hard. Did you need a wheel/tire replacement?

This and that.
Sorry to hear about your misfortune. I had that happen to my C350 once but only the tie rods (?) within the tire had blown up. There are some metal rods inside the tire that maintain the seal and those got messed up. Essentially had to replace my front two tires which ended up being $600.

Where in Calgary did this happen? So I can avoid the damn area!
