I don't think so.
First off, they sold thousands upon thousands of these. It was not really a limited production car. Modern cars will never become 'classics' because of all the tech and computers that these cars use and need to operate. The gadgetry stops becoming available after a while... Not really so in cars produced 50+ years ago.
Also, I'm pretty sure the SLS has a better chance of becoming a 'classic' than the C63...

However, some of the "classic" muscle cars were mass produced.
And there definitely aren't as many C63s out there as there are standard C-Classes.
I read on the PL that AMG doesn't publish production numbers.

I think you meant to ask will the M156 become a classic. W204 is the designation for the entire C-Class line up. And I think this has been discussed similarly in another thread, and the majority consensus was that it's too "common" (as others have stated) of a car.
If you were asking about the W204 line up then that's a definite no from me.

There was just a big thread on this.
No, unless you have a c63 BS then chances are you wont have a classic. Which is why I'm likely getting rid of my 2009 next week before the value goes down with the new model just around the corner.

Damn rights it will be. Emissions are getting tighter and tighter, engines smaller and more boost.
You wait 40 years from now... C63 will be a classic for sure and the BS will be even more rare.
The C63 put Mercedes and Amg on the block, before the C63 the average car guy at the track didn't even know what an a AMG was, now everyone knows.
Look at all the guys on here now, back in 2009, there was only a handful of guys on here and many didn't even know of the C63. I don't even recognize anyone on here anymore except Mthis and a couple others. C63 has a huge fan base now.

My Take,
No one has 20/20 future vision. We can speculate all we want, no one will ever know. As I had mentioned in the last post, if you are able to maintain a car like the C63 for 20+ years, the time you spend with the car will be worth more (IMHO).
I can tell you for sure 100% that if you kept a C63 in Mint Original shape for 2 decades, it will be one of the coolest cars on the road. By then I suspect all cars will be heavily electric biased.

I think you just confirmed the fact that it will NOT be a classic with this statement.

Guys all I'm trying to say is car collectors will look for extremely clean cars if they are going to spend $$ in the future. The supply will be a heck of a lot lower compared to today.

Down the road, anything with the 6.2 L (M156 or M159) will be sought after by enthusiasts. Not sure if you'd be able to call the C63 classic, but you'd be able to call it desirable.
