I'd rather drill a hole in my forehead (front license plate woe)
Well, here in the wonderful state of NJ they require front license plates, so that then they can snap images/vids of you from every angle and gain max ticket revenue most likely. I've got my brand new '14 C63, beautiful in black, and I'd rather knock out my two front teeth than drill through the front bumper and mount the stock Godawful license plate bracket. I've done some searching on the forums but haven't seen anything that looks too awesome, some double-sided tape jobs, some tow hook side placement (that's probably illegal too... ), but still looking.
How are folks mounting front plates and keeping them somewhat aesthetically pleasing?
Thanks

One potential problem with the tow hook location is that it will/can interfere with the parktronic sensors. Eventually the parktronic will turn itself off. So if you have parking sensors the tow hook location may not work well unless you are willing to turn parktronic off and forgo the parking warnings. Even then the parktronic system will act out from time to time in an annoying manner.

Sorry, NJ is one of those $%^@ states and I feel sorry for those who can't leave that place. I know because I lived there for 6 years myself and couldn't wait to get out.
What about painting it? Maybe try taking it to a print shop and have them copy the plate onto some kind of clinging vinyl that you can just stick it on and peel off whenever you like.
Or hire an artist to paint it. You can also just put the plate in a copy machine and crank out many copies. Then you can cut out the letters easily with a knife and use the combinations of them as stencils to can-spray the plate. If NJ still has that awful fading yellow background color (always reminded me of a cup of freshly voided urine), then replicating the pattern with a yellow spray can shouldn't be too difficult.

Another version of the hideaway plate (motorized) http://altecproducts.com
I feel for you... I hate front plates as well. Luckily in Georgia they're not required. I may be moving back to SoCal after 20 years and dred the thought of having to put on a front plate. Sucks big time!

I have the parktronic sensors, and the plate does not interfere with them if you keep the plate higher than them. I have the Rho tow hook on the 507. I like it. 100% legal and no holes drilled in the bumper

I like what Maroon had, sits low enough and cheap to do. Looks the best imo too. Luckily I am in Alberta and we don't require these, unlike every other Canadian Province.

A vinyl plate on reflective material would be cool
If it was identical to the issued one it would take effort to notice it and a hard assed cop to ding you for it
Don't they allow this in europe?
Someone needs tp petition their state for a specialty plate that looks 'euro'
Where they put the country GB, IT, etc we could put the state, PA in my case
They could charge a premium andmake some cash

The link shows a TX vinyl plate and who made it

Yup, what a pain to have to get a vinyl plate but I may do it. It might look worse though (check out the attached - not sure I'm crazy about that either). Read the thread too and one of them who had the plate affixed over the front grille noticed better AC performance after the place was removed from there. No one would expect issues with oil cooler or whatever is behind the grille? (still learning about my new rig...)
The Rho-plate looks OK but it specifically says "for vehicles with no parking sensors". And I've got the Distronic too which I think adds some additional sensors too so I imagine the front of my car is littered with 'em.

I just stick mine in my front window on the passenger side. Most cops don't really care, and the few that have given me a fix-it ticket for it, I've been able to get signed off pretty easy.

I modified the OEM plastic holder to fit snugly below the front bumper.
See here:

I'm also maybe 15 min from you...
Since the changed the photos, how do I embed the picture? can't seem to figure it out now.

i've gotten 2 tickets for no front plate in 5 years.. one was dismissed, the other i just paid and kept it moving.
call me stubborn but i have no plans to put it on. i've just accepted the fact that it's gonna cost me every now and then. if it ever becomes a constant thing, i'll think about putting it on but at 2 in 5 years, i'll take my chances..

I pay the tickets. Which I don't get. NY has front plate laws as well but if I bought a car that didn't have holes I didn't drill any. I'm also planning to fill in holes to remove the front plate at least on my Porsche.

I didn't like the offset look of the tow-hook option, so use this mount instead. I have it as low as possible, making the plate look like it's mounted to the mesh. I have removed it from time-to-time when I don't travel/park downtown much, which is where most of the tickets are levied now that parking meter enforcers have the ability to write no-plate tickets.
