What to look out for in a used C 63?
Hey guys,
I would like to purchase a used 2009 C 63 AMG to replace my current 2003 S 350 and would like to know what you guys think I should check or do before purchasing the car. I've had the chance to see the car in person and all the car really needs is a full paint job since it has minor scratches and chips all over it. I turned on the ignition and the beastly engine came to life so no problems there, the engine compartment looks clean and well maintained but I didn't get the chance to take it for a spin. What else should I check before going ahead with the purchase?
Thanks!

have a Pre Purchase inspection done by someone you trust or a local MB as others have stated. With my E55 when I sold it the buyer asked I perform a PPI and a leak down test. Thorough but definitely a good idea.

Intake manifold bolts and gaskets are common failure, might be best to look for one that has already had them replaced.
Light switch seems to fail on some as well (as did mine at around 75,000 miles).
I had a tail light module fail on which was replaced by warranty too.

At night, look at both headlights. If one is slightly yellower than the other, then it is likely older then the brighter one. Closely inspect the side of the bright one, because that light was likely replaced and the car may have been in at least a bender.

Ok guys so I've taken an appointment with the MB dealership for a pre-purchase inspection. Hopefully the car won't need any major work done otherwise, what might seem like a good deal will end up turning into a nightmare. The seller is asking for a 44k $ price, which is a steal in Lebanon seeing that most cars cost 50 % more than the cars in the States. Should I just rely on the results of the inspection to make a decision? What do you guys think?
