Newbie - tranny issue ?
Hi All
New member after long time reader. Picked up Aus 2010 c63 (black - stock - 55ks) last december after dreaming of owning one one day - loving it so far coming from a line of 5 series bmw's and also loving some the amazing cars you guys have on this thread and humbled to be able to have a car like this to be honest. These cars even second hand aren't cheap here is AUS and no plans to mod but will enjoy hearing the exploits of others.
To the issue at hand and any knowledge would be appreciated. Got the b service done from the dealership a couple of fridays ago. The car isn't driven during the week and on first drive by the other half who isn't at all into cars she came home to say the car felt weird to drive and didn't sound right. So - here I go an my weekend blast and notice the transmission is not wanting to change up easily in C mode which it is normally driven. For example previously on normal drive it will go up to 7th around town driving 60 - 70kh but now it holds on to 3rd and 4th a lot longer and am lucky to see 5th come up. I tried in M mode and even when I get to 5th it wont allow me to change to 6th and of course 7th at all. Took it on the motorway and it finally went to 6th at around 90kph and then to 7th. I am assuming because of this issue and holding in lower gears longer that is why I am seeing above average oil temps and fuel usage. Even with spirited driving I have seen about 107 on the oil temp in s mode previously but I got up to 111 in C mode today.
I will ring the dealership next week but was wondering if it is something I can do to fix i.e. some sort of reset ? or any experience to my issue ? To be honest I have taken my car to the dealership twice since buying (oil change when bought to be safe and this service) and the service advisors don't seem to have much knowledge about anything car related and the last guy was more impressed with the variety of juices they had in the lounge fridge than car talk.
Thanks in advance

Brisbane. Thanks for the reply RE ECU reset. Did look through along with some other threads and to be honest I am unclear on whether it meant my car is now as it should be after the service or not as some folks are saying it correct to have the gears hold on for longer. Not being able to go to 6th or 7th even manually doesn't seem right though. Not sure with keyless go how to do this reset (without removing the button) so any info to make it clear would help. Sorry not so mechanically minded as you can tell.
For all those interested in service costs for AUS members I thought I'd share:
Service B - $778
Wiper Blades - $90
A/C Service - $163
For those who read the last bit of my first post, I made a point of taking a bunch of juices from the fridge to take home for my vodkas!

It wont go up to 6 or 7 when u only cruising at 50-60km zone though. Mine does exactly the same. Guess they might have disconnected the battery for doing the a/c service so the ECU is probably still learning you driving habit.
Take it out for a good blast to sunshine or gold then back, it should figure itself out.

That actually sounds like a good idea - will make sure the missus has her eyes out for the unmarked's cruising the highway but any excuse for a long drive.

Hi Newby:
I thought, at first, you were talking mph. Kph is near half speed The shift points seems normal for equivelent mph. In C mine doesn't go into 7th until after 60 of about 90kph, depending on throttle application. However on manual, I dunno. I generally don't use the paddles as the engine red lines quicker than I can shift.
