Will these wheels fit?
Hello guys!
I know the whole "will these wheels fit" threads have been done to death!
But I need some help, have a guy selling his wheels and I will be using these only on my track semi slicks.
Problem is: the wheel specs are 18", 8.5J, ET38 in front and 18", 9.5J, ET38 in the back.
As I said, these wheels will be used once a month if that! Will I have issues with these wheels?
Oh, they will be going on a 2011 C63

Front will fit and won't rub. Rear you will need ET 47-48 to fit without rubbing. Need to shave 10mm off the hub to drop the offset.
If the car isn't lowered you might get away with it around the track but I doubt it, wouldn't risk it.

hhmmm wouldn't the face type of the wheel, disk type, would have something to do with that as well? I would think you can do +35~40 on a rear 9.5 wheel to get an aggressive fitment going. certain disk types are meant to clear BBK and so forth.

I'm only using it on the track, so as long as its "safe" then I'm happy.
So you guys would be against it?

Do you mean off the car or off the rim?

I think he is saying off the rim, at least I hope this is what he means as that is correct.
You can take them to a machine shop and have the hub shaved, Ive heard o this being done on many occasions, but only makes sense if you are getting a steal of a deal on the wheels.
I have a feeling they will rub like mad on the track where you are pushing limits heading into and exiting corners at high rates of speed, especially if you are lowered. This is assuming your not running stretched tire set up and your fenders are not rolled as those are options btw.

If I were to track this car, the first thing I would do is roll the fenders, get wider wheels and tires and have it lowered.
I would not mess with camber outside of being in spec as you want the flat of the tires as much on pavement as possible. you can run neg camber to get the tires to slant in more at the top to clear the fender, but this is no good if tracking.

Thanx alot for the info man!
Forgot to mention that car isn't lowered, still stock.
Yeah I am getting the wheels at a steal so that's why I'm considering them.
To be honest, I'm not serious into tracking.
It will be once in a blue moon, but really annoying to keep swapping between semis and streets on my original wheels.

I do not think the rear touching the brakes is the issue. With that offset it would be the issue if rubbing the guard.
