Well, bricked my head unit, or so I thought....once it quit working I figured what the hell and ordered a used unit and opened mine up....when I went to tracing power I got to the rear of the unit and low and behold I had NEVER even noticed that there was a 20amp fuse behind the main harness plug....replaced the fuse and all is good
So now ive got a spare head unit on the bench to tinker with at will so ill keep yall posted

Why is this not as simple as the w211 E63 etc.....
Why not just be able to push a few buttons and get into the menu....

I gave up....it kept resetting back to factory no matter what sequence I tried....I could keep it up as long as the key was in the ignition but as soon as the key was removed and the run on power died the logo would revert back when powered back up

This is promising but not yet a defined option. i have found the ability to change the star logo to the amg logo and it works, but it resets with the 2nd key cycle every time...ive got to do some more digging and see if I cant find a way to delete the star so that i has no default image to revert to....
and as an even bigger tease ive been able to do it with my own images as well, but they stop after the 2nd key cycle as well...im going to get this cracked.....be nice to have pix of your own car, your kids, Denny's...you get the idea...im not going to post how i got into this system just yet as i know that i am skating on thin ice with hot blades in relation to bricking this unit but as soon as i get the image to stay, a defined process and it's safe yall know i will post up

As I said before I gave up...it was not possible to have the Comand system retain the AMG logo after the first key cycle. Not only does it revert to the MB logo but it also purges the AMG logo altogether(Deletes from system). My solution was going with the 10.25" Android screen which has the AMG logo as standard now.
