New C63 owner
Been a member of this site for awhile now and finally have become a proud owner.
Picked up a 2008 BLK/BLK C63 last Saturday in Atlanta. Had a great documented carfax history and based off that has already had the head bolts changed.
After being away from it on business travel this past week, I have come home changed the tag lights over to LED and run a clay bar over the paint to smooth it out. Finally put it through a little spirited driving today. No major mods planned for now as I just want to enjoy it for a while (coming out of a 20 yr mustang hobby)

Welcome to the board!
Stupid question, is it a good thing or bad thing to buy a car with the head bolts replaced? Does it means the old bolts failed?

And to me it is a good thing because if I would have bought a car that did not have them updated I would have replaced them myself and that would have cost me around $1500 (estimated) plus my own labor.
And yes the car is very clean. The only thing I have not done is put it on a lift and inspect underneath. That will probably happen this week.

Also, according to items I have read, including my owners manual, the 2008 C63 came standard with a locking rear diff rather than an open diff as the later cars. Is this correct?
I know from my 'testing' both wheels definitely pull

Congrats!!! In the past I also came from built mustang then to vette now to C63 and love it. Although, I really do miss my custom convertible mustang as it was a beast 475 rwhp -> damn state emissions.

my last mustang build up was a procharged 93 cobra that put down 536 rwhp and 540 rwtq. Was a lot of fun to drive especially when those pesky crotch rockets came up thinking they wanted some.
But this C63 is wonderful to drive and so far I have enjoyed every mile

Congrats on the C63 and it does indeed look very clean.
I don't think the 2008 came with a LSD in the base package but I could stand to be corrected. If you want to know for sure get Valvestud to run the VIN and post the Data Card for you. The option code is 471.
Enjoy!

I just called MBUSA and currently am awaiting a copy of the original MSRP form to hit my inbox. Lady told me it would contain all information plus pricing. Let you guys know whenever it comes

So my info hit my inbox. it does not mention LSD. So maybe it was upgraded at a later time?
It is weird that the owners manual refers that the C63 came with a self locking rear and I know that both back tires leave equal marks in the road

Welcome.
I picked mine up about 6month ago also in ATL.
It's a 2010 blk on blk.
Maybe we will see each other one day.
Have fun with the car.

Remember, jack the rear end up, put in neutral, spin a tire by hand....other tire same direction=LSD...
.other tire opposite direction = open differential
