Front license plate

How are you supposed to mount a front license plate on this "curved" bracket?

It's made out of metal, and it's flat, it made no sense to me that the mounting base is not flat...

I just put my plate half on my workbench and bent it by hand til it matched the mount (when i had that mount). I didnt like the idea of the screws being under that much tension.

Yes, you'll have to live with a bent front plate. Either by hand or let the screws do it.

IMO it looks pretty cool.

None here either, not drilling into the bumper and It didn't come with a front mount anyway

Just carry the extra plate in the trunk and play dumb if pulled over

I wish I could run around without a front plate. I have the tow hook mount. They won't let you on my military base if you don't have a front plate and your car is registered in VA.

I've heard of it, but couldn't bear to drill a hole in my nice front bumper. Stupid laws.

My bumper has no holes but state requires front plate. Need to get tow hook solution. Can anybody recommend?

I didn't want to drill holes either. The tow hook was not my cup of tea. I didn't feel right after a few months (still have it). I modified the bracket a little and mounted it lower with stainless ties.

I have raw DIY pics, but never posted.

I don't have a front plate, but I would suggest using some sort of spacers instead of bending.

That's what I'm thinking of doing, not worried so much about bending the plate, but about the carbon fiber frame that I'm waiting for (in the mail) , I don't want to molest that, supposedly it's made out of strong aluminum wrapped with a CF layer and topped with a clear coat.

I cut a small V in my aluminum plate where I wanted it to bend.

I would first Recommend Sto n Sho. I have this for my Lotus. ZERO drilling and it removes in 2 seconds by a cotter pin under the bumper.

(example only, do not order)

I don't know if they have a model yet for our years, but they will make custom solutions if you give them measurements... I did so with the Lotus and now they have it on their site.

Too late for my case, bought the car already drilled, and get this, I was gonna go with painted plugs route, and to my surprise when I took the plate holder off there were 4 holes so I'm stuck with installing a front license plate where it belongs , that is why I ordered nice frames , at least make it a show piece also thinking of ordering black california plates, the car is irridium silver so I'm accenting the car with black and carbon fiber parts,

MY plate finally arrived and so did my CF frames, , I went to a DIY store and got 4 10MM plastic spacers/bushings, (8mm would be the perfect size but I only could find 10) and some screws and went to work here's the results, not perfect but at least sturdy , the rear one on the other hand was simple and straight forward.
