looking at a couple AMGs, help me decide
hi everyone! i'm new here and wanted to get some input from you guys. I currently have a modded BMW 335i coupe which i have had for about 4 years now and finally looking to move over to the AMG side . I have a couple options im looking at that are aroudn the same price point, and was just wondering what ppl here would pick in my position.
I can either get into a new C63 507 or a 2012 e63. like i said the price is roughly the same, so i just wanted to know interms of daily/spirited driving, which would be the car you would own?

What are you looking for out of your car? What types of roads do you drive on most? The C63 has a very firm suspension and will beat you up over really rough roads and highway expansion joints. Then again, it is set up to be tight and handle well. The E63 is going to be a better long range cruiser. It has vented seats (which would be great in Florida, for example). They really are completely different cars.

This is a C63 forum so we are biased. Both are great cars. The 507 is more raw and spirited while the E63 is more refined. Different engines too NA vs TT. I'm assuming the new 507 is a coupe?

Also, given that you want to mod it, def. go with the C.

i think the only things that appeal to me abotu the E is that its a TT v8, so a tune alone will have quite a bit of increase on hp and tq. that and its a more spacious 4 door.. but yes i guess it is for the older crowd.

I'm 40 and I'm too young for an E.
507, any day of the week. But I'd get the sedan. From what I read, it is lighter, plus it is roomier, more practical and in my opinion, better looking.

I've driven both. They are so different it's hard to compare.
An E to me is the perfect sedan almost effortless to drive, enough room without being cumbersome, luxurious, easy to park/pickup groceries. An E63 is going to feel more like a normal car untill you push it - and then it will come alive.
A C63 507 coupe is a beast. It's difficult not to be aware you're driving a performance machine. 507 attracts a lot of attention that an E63 doesn't.
Summary an E63 is going to feel sedate compared to a 507 coupe. The E performs more without a spectacle whereas the C63 is all about causing a scene.

Drive both. See which you like.
Also consider the 2012+ CLS63, same 5.5 v8.
The e-class can be an absolute highway monster. Yes, the e-class brand carries the old man stereotype. The c-class can also be quite a bit louder as it is NA and is also obviously fast.
Again, just get into both of them and see which you like more.

I agree with that drive both. E class is more a luxurious sport car that can be as fast as a ferrari while massaging your back and cooling your buttocks! Lol! It is heavy so even with a tune you won't feel the same handling compared to the C. Exhaust sound will be different too. Louder for the N/A engine. I've driven both and I sincerely like the C better. But the E is a great cruiser. If you can have both jackpot ;-)

I have experienced both. I has a C63 Sedan P31 and now a C63 Black Series Coupe and my Father has an E63 S 4 Matic. Also Ive driven every single AMG Model on the track and I would say 507 is the car for you. New C63 Sedan might be an option if youre willing to wait 8-10 months. (I think the new C will be more E class like without the bigger figure)

I think E63 is targeted at a more mature audience, not that people in 20's cant buy and I also didnt imply that folks in 20's are immature :-p
but I think you will enjoy the raw nature of the 507 much more. The E63 is a more refined beast and can certainly wait when you are older.
