2010 C63 AMG
Extended Warranty Cost for CPO C63
I am new to this forum and have found lots of useful information.
I bought my 2010 mercedes c63 AMG two and half years ago as a CPO. The current warranty will expire this July. I love my car very much and drive just around 5k a year, so originally I think it is not necessary to buy an extended warranty. I joined this wonderful forum around two weeks ago and I found there are lots of pages on the issue of head bolt for the M156 engine and I believe my car is in the influenced vehicles. So I start considering to buy an extended warranty.
I make some price quotes with my local dealers in pacific northwest, the mercedes 2 year extended warranty are all priced at around $5500 which is far more cost than what I have found in this forum(around $3500). So I am wondering if someone in the forum has bought the mercedes extended warranty before the end of CPO warranty recently? Can someone recommend your local dealer to me who has offered you the extended warranty at a good price?
Thanks in advance.

I was quoted about 6k for a mbusa extended warranty, prices for amg went way up in sept.
Ended up buying a third party one through easy care for about half that price, can't speak to their warranty yet though since I haven't used it yet

I purchased a Fidelity Platinum Warranty with 4 years or 100,000 for $3200 USD. They covered a member with head bolt issue on this forum and he had an aftermarket tune as well.
I have not had to use them yet.

has anyone purchased a warranty outside of the dealership? I'm interested but not willing to shell out 6K for the extended CPO. I still have about 6 months before my CPO expires.

I got easycare I think it was around 3k for a 4yr 75k But the price went up drastically at over 35k miles on the car, I got in right under the window

I just got a quote on a Fidelity warranty. I called them, they told me I could go to any dealer that sold fidelity. The quote I got was for an additional 4 years and 60K miles, platinum coverage.
I can't disclose the price because it's one of my stores that I work with regularly, so I'm getting it for $100 over cost and let me tell you, it's worth every penny! Going back tomorrow to get it for sure. It's less than half of the $5,300 MB quoted me today for 2 years additional on the CPO!

So if my car is already out of warranty, not within warranty, and not CPO, would I still be qualified to purchase the Fidelity warranty? I just asked my dealership and they dont sell the fidelity anymore, they sell Zurich now....

You don't have to buy from an MB dealership. You can go to any dealership that sells Fidelity. Zurich is a very good/reputable company as well, so I wouldn't hesitate if you are worried about buying from a non MB store.

I'd say just call local dealers and see who they offer, prices are on a sliding scale based on mileage of the car

I really wanted that mb extended warranty but it more than doubled for amg last September and just wasn't woth it then

Hello All - Purchased my CPO C63/2012 yesterday and loving the car. My dealership in San Fran area quoted me $4800USD for 2yr extended warranty. I was able to call around and present a price of $3700 they are able to do. Still debating on purchasing it.
Also negotiated the prepaid service for my 40k, 50k and 60k maintenance for $1400. That seems to make sense as they quoted me $1300 for my 40K service. Any thoughts?

I think you'd break even on the maintenance deal. You could also get the work done cheaper at a good indie shop. As for the extended warranty, i suppose individual experiences vary, but I had one on my last AMG and I came out ahead. So far on the C63, my $3500 warranty got me 3 cam adjusters, left bank tappets, drive shaft, steering column, engine mounts, tranny mount, and an assortment of other miscellaneous items. I have to say, though, if I didn't have the warranty, I probably wouldn't have bothered to fix some of the stuff that I did.

Thanks for the insight Maximus! Yes, searching for a good indie shop in my area and get pricing quotes. I will probably do the extended warranty to have worry free. This is the first preowned car I have ever purchased, so little anxiety about. Plus I am loving this car and want to keep tip top shape.

Thanks man! Yes, 1 year CPO and had a 1 year left on previous warranty, so would add another two. I got it from Redwood City dealer. Pretty good guys so far.
