Bluetooth Music
I got this suggestion from another thread but couldn't find a clear cut answer.
I have a 2011 C63 and Bluetooth works seamlessly. However, just for the phone not music. I know there is something I can buy to have it work with music on my phone and various apps but I have no idea what I need and what to do.
So I am hoping someone can help me out here. Basically, I would love to play the music on my phone (apps, stored music etc) and have it play through the car bluetooth. What can I do?
Thanks gents!

You can add a Tune-2-Air BT adaptor. It works great..... except only with the phone's base music ap. Streaming Pandora, Spotify, etc. will play and you can use the car's controls to change volume. All other car functionality and display is rendered useless. 2012 and up added the "full" BT functionality.

I have a 2011 and this was also my experience. I bought a Tune2Air and it worked great for the songs I had loaded onto my iPhone. But Pandora was iffy at best. It hardly ever said what was playing and it would not allow me to skip songs. So I returned the Tune2Air. I ended up hooking my iPhone up through the cable in the glove box. I ran the cable into my center console and I mount my iPhone next to me on the center console and if I want to skip songs, I do it on the iPhone itself.
Eaxctly my same path and experience on my 2010. Really, really frustrating.

Given the decrease in sound quality for music streamed via BT you are probably better off just loading up an old iPod with all your music and connecting that in via the plug in the glovebox

In my case, I am hooking up through the media interface cable, so the suggestion of a iPod solution doesn't help. The issue is with the MB handling streaming sources. I, and many others, choose to listen to streaming as opposed to keeping up a collection of songs. As such, we have no control over the streaming from the car controls... cable or no.

^^^^(This was for JimmyR's comment.) Valve snuck in before I could get my post in.
I have BT connectivity. I really love, artist names, track names, and even album cover shots. Great quality, for the most part, with all BT streaming. But as an avid audiofile, I can attest to the beauty of a fully packed iPOD in the console. You have full control and the music sounds great. Track names, artists, track advance, and the great sound of a hardwired sound playing device. Should be a non-issue.

I was also very suprised at how good the audio sounded when streaming via BT for my iPhone.

this is exactly what i did, had an old ipod shuffle loaded it up and put it int he glove box.
i hate the location of that interface, really want it in the center console like the FL series has.

Anyone pre-2012 running a 30pin to lightning adapter and then a cable around to the console? My other car is a 2012 GTI that came out of the box with perfect BT - phone integration and streaming audio.
That plus gas tanks that are smaller but last 50% longer are the only things I miss from the GTI.

Thanks for that. Although I noticed that the cables are just sitting inside the console. They aren't plugged in anywhere. Now I can figure out which end goes on the iPod, but I am not sure where do I plug the cable inside the centre console?

2012 and up connect inside the center consol. Previous years are in the glove box I think..

I don't think you get the connection if you don't have the multi media pack...if it's there and no cable look for a flat connection in the box at least I think it's flat..cable itself is a lil big

I assume I do have it as the glovebox has a couple of iPod cables sitting in a plastic bag. They wouldn't put them there is I didn't but i will check it out. Just not sure where exactly to look for a connection in the glove box. I also have an option on my Command system for AUX and I could never figure out what that was all about since I didn't have any 3.5mm connections outside.

I spent $60 at best buy and got this. Plugs into the AUX in the glove box and I use that for music and the regular MB Bluetooth for phone. Works great, both pair at the same time, and since it is run off the plug in the glove box, and it has a USB port on it, I plug in my charger so the phone is charging from the glovebox as well.
You can find them cheaper on Ebay, but I was there and just bought it anyways.

I have Tune2Air and all works perfectly on my 2009.

What do you mean by "perfectly"? If you can't use the car's screen and contols to control streaming such as Pandora or Spotify, then it's not perfect. It's common knowledge that it works fine with the phone's base music library.

I use Pandora almost exclusively. Controls, display in cluster, all works perfectly

I seem to recall in the previous blutooth streaming threads that for some odd reason 09s worked with tune2air and 10/11 didn't
