MY head bolts
HI Guys
I finally pulled my head bolts as im adding weistec bolts
They seem in pretty good condition compared to the ones ive seen previously
the first pic are the worst ones
I think all in all they held up pretty well considering ive been making 600hp for the last 15000kms and running multiply 10sec qtr mile passes

What does the inside of your intake manifold look like? Notice any other unusual wear while you have it apart - cams, lifters, etc?

You can see inside the ports on the head, looks damn clean to me, hes probably running a catch can and I bet boost helps keep it cleaner.

Ah ha, duuh, of course - my bad.
Would be interesting to hear how the lifters and cams look anyway.

Porting heads isn't to clean oil and dirt... Rather smooth out any rough surfaces from the casting... Some castings can be made to flow considerably better after (more hp)

so they will be cleaned crack tested and put back on with the new head bolts sls buckets arp gear and then back to the track with a stage 3

I know what porting heads is. I have a Stage 3 car I built myself You said cleaned up...I see what you mean now.
These heads flow really good from the factory, I doubt you will get much from polishing the casting. Usually a slightly textured port flows better than a really smooth port. With a really smooth port the air can stick to the surface.
The CNCd heads are way too much $$ for the gains. Build the engine and run most boost.

I'll port your heads, a lot, with my Dremmel tool for less than HALF that. PM me if interested.
I miss the good old days..... actually I'm only half-joking here. Some light port-matching to the gaskets might be fairly non-invasive and worth a couple of hp while you have it apart.
