2001 CL500, AC won't power on, No sound from speakers.
I replaced a dead battery on my 01 CL500. After the battery went dead the command would not power on and I was getting a popping sound from the speakers. On my way to the shop the AC quit working. No lights...it just won't power on. Turns out I fried my rear SAM. I replaced the rear SAM and the Command started working again, however now I have no sound from the speakers, and the AC still will not power on. Any ideas??

Maybe you need to clear the faults in the climate control fault register using the service menus? Just a guess. Check the gas pressure?

I have a 01 CL600 and I have had the A/C not coming on and popping sound from the speakers issue for the last 10 years. No one seems to be able to diagnose it properly. You didnt mentioned it as being related to your issue, but the speaker popping I can at least recreate. It only happens if I play the music loudly (and its hot outside) for an extended period of time. The speakers start popping and then the amp just shuts down. I now just try to avoid overheating the amp because apparently the cooling fans just sometimes can keep up with the heat.
The a/c not coming on, however, has been just a pesky intermittent problem. Cant recreate it with any consistency nor find a solution for it. It usually comes right back on with just shutting the car off, removing the key and restarting the car.
