Vacuum pump in the trunk

Can a vacuum pump be repaired? Has anyone ever opened the pump?
I am asking this because a new one is pretty costly and my friend's CL500 remote works but the door don't lock nor does the trunk open without the small metal key. The vacuum pump in the trunk goes click instead off psssst. So the pump has to be the culprit?

I repaired my vacuum pump a few years ago. The internal valves get clogged up with ceramic dust. Basically consisted of dismantle, clean and re-assemble. Its fiddly but straightforward. Photograph and label everything and go slow. Allow several hours.

So i went ahead and opened the vacuum pump house. The clicking sound i heard came from the the pump itself. The pump itself is not broken but the plastic thing that sucks / blows air when spinning. I found the pump new and second hand but the plastic thingy i need i can not seem to find. The reason i would love to repair this central locking vacuum pump is that they are pretty pricey anywhere from 300 used to 800 new.
