2003 CL600 for sale - located in FL (West coast) available in late November 2014

Hello,

I have decided to sell my 2003 CL600 with Carlsson package (625HP).

Car has 80,800 miles and it is fully serviced - new ABC, new coil packs, new ESP module, new waterpump. I have driven it less than 10,000 miles over the past 3 years. I added an iPod integration module and a Bluetooth add-on.

Since it is now fully maintained it is good for another 60-70,000 miles. Pictures are available in the album on my profile.

Car is a beast and blast to drive.

I had the car up for sale a two years ago, then I changed my mind. I love the car but I love Shelby GT500 even more - I have a black Shelby and I want to get another one.

CL600 is for sale now again for $24K. "My loss is your gain."

miles

They are a tough sell because of maintenance costs. I have replaced virtually all the "wear and tear" components over the past three years (starting with ABC, all the way down to the infamous brake light switch and car drives like new. I don't have to sell it and if it does not sell, I will just keep driving it.

I found a great indy shop with top notch mechanics - this helps with maintenance cost and with attention to detail.

At some point I wanted to convert it to coils, then decided against it. I like original equipment. When you get parts directly and have a great indy shop doing the maintenance, maintenance cost is bearable. If something fails, I will just replace it and keep driving it.

If an interested buyer comes along - it is for sale. If not, I will take it for a "test drive" myself LOL

I'm starting to believe the old Boat adage can be just as applicable to the CL's.

"The 2 happiest days of a boatowners life are..." I think most of you know the rest.

car no longer for sale

First things first - my CL is no longer for sale and here is why.

I wanted a V12 machine - and got the CL with 70K miles. It took me almost three years to fully restore it. At this point, car is immaculate.

I sort of knew what I was getting myself into because car had four previous owners which means that it was abused four times over and it was not maintained properly. One of the previous owners even put cheapest "high performance" tires one can find. They were worse than Dunlops. ABC was shot within the first year but it did not cost the Earth to fix it because I figured out how to source parts. Having a business helps because then you can get really good discounts. After ABC, I replaced coil packs, ball joints and front struts. Recently, I had to replace a few parts around the ESP.

All of those items are "wear and tear" items and they were so badly worn that it only confirms the level of abuse by previous owners.

V12s are rare beasts to begin with. With the ongoing war on powerful engines and "trend" towards battery-powered toy cars, the V12 will remain as exclusive as it was before. "Exclusive" means that it will be a particular joy to drive. From posts on the forum, you can see that we all get a bit frustrated with these cars but at the end of the day they are cars we want to drive. Nobody needs a V12. You only get one if you want one.

Overall, I spent maybe as much money as I would on a good mid-size sedan and in return I got a V12 beast which accelerates 0-60 in 3.5 seconds (with 93 gas). This particular car was priced at ~$180k new (CL600 plus Carlsson performance package). I am pretty sure that 3.5 should be 3.2 seconds but let's go with 3.5 seconds. That's a heck of a deal for a mid-size sedan budget

It gets 15-17mpg (who cares, right? It is a V12!)

If the CL did anything in the three years I had it, it heightened my appetite for other sexy V12 cars.
