Help, car vibrates at a stop…

So Ive been noticing that when I'm at a stop light, the car vibrates now.. When I put it in neutral, the vibration goes away. Anyone know what this can be?

If it is on your 55 get ready to enjoy taking it without lube. They have to raise up the engine and I think move the fenders outward and disconnect the radiator to get the engine up far enough to replace the mounts. If you don't change them your neck on the radiator will break for sure. I know my 04 did. Attend to it ASAP

If engine mounts are bad, then you feel a vibration in the wheel at idle.

Yes, that is true but he says the car vibrates at idle, what does that say to you?

That it's not the transmission a?

I'll tell you what it is it's that round plastic ball that's black that everybody says doesn't vibrate but it does and that's what makes all the noise or vibration at idle and there is a new part....

Pulsation dampener ty

I don't thing that is relevant to this particular situation, my thought is to take it to MBZ for 100.00 and let them tell you what is wrong.

Any vibration is a sign that your mounts are going bad, you should replace them asap before other parts get affected.

I actually replaced both my motor and transmission mounts a year ago unless they went bad again?... The thing is, why does the vibration go away when I put the car in neutral ?

Have them checked again. They are known for going bad on your car. To much torque. You can actually open your hood, put one foot on the gas and one on the brake (while in drive) and push the pedal and see if it lifts, and when you take it off fast see if it pops down. Then do it in reverse and see. If it makes a noise they are bad. I had to have mine replaced twice in a year but they did it for me under warranty. Be careful because the if the rad is original it will break the neck on the radiator. I know that as well, mine broke because of the mounts. The car vibrated in gear and not in neutral.

Best thing to do is take it to MB of Stevens Creek and let them tell you what is wrong.

Did you check the pulsation dampner? that's exactly what was wrong with my car after I changed both mounts.

Wouldn't the pulsation dampener make a noise? They usually hum if they are bad. Yours was quiet but bad? How would they be able to tell without it making noise? Just curious.

Yes it was humming and vibrating badly. Those were symptoms and they checked and replaced problem solved.
There is a revised part.

Yes, that is what I thought. If it isn't making noise more than likely it isn't bad and the issue isn't the dampener. Now, that isn't to say it couldn't be. My thought would be to spend the 100.00 at the dealer to tell him exactly what it is. We can only speculate but the official word would be the dealer. Then take it to a reputable place to have it fixed for 1/2 the money.
