CLA light up front emblem
I completed this installation on a 2014 CLA. This emblem lights up with the parking lights. I will also be doing the rear side bumper vents to be utilized as parking and brake. Will post picks when the rear is done. Also doing OEM style rear cam and video input to screen as well.

Did you wire it direct to the fuse panel or did you spend the money on the transformer that is not needed. Mine is wired direct and goes on as soon as the door is opened and stays on while driving. Does yours? I think it really makes the car stand out. I like that.

Not sure what you are talking about "transformer" i think you are referring to LED driver. Transformer is typically used if it was CFL. I used leds that were designed for 12-24VDC use and is tied to the parkingl lights. I Sure you can tie the power any which way you want. The emblem only needs to light up at night so the parking light was the easy way to go. So on your car you say it stays on while driving, so even during the day?

yes it stays on as long as I am in the car. It is hooked up to fuse 23 under the hood. I also ran a switch under the dash so If I want I can turn it off. but as long as I am in the drivers seat it is on.

Not sure about the rest of the wiring on the CLA but on some Benzes, there is a live positive terminal inside the fuse panel on the car. It goes live when you turn on the car and when you turn off the car it stays live for several minutes and shuts down. You can also hook it up to the underdash lights on lets say a 221 and would turn on as soon as you open the door and while driving but you can turn it off simply by turning off the dome light. The best way to wire it up is have it wired up to ign. accessory using a relay. 30 will go to the emblem power, 87 will go to the ignition accessory, 85 will go to ground, 86 will be connected to the parking lights. This way it's on at night and off during the day and you don't need to deal with switches as it will work like it should. Like I mentioned, there are many ways you can have it operated.
