Weird clicking and squeaking from right rear wheels.. parking brake..
anyone ever have this problem before? after getting it diagnosed, i was told it was the ebrake components inside the hub...they said the drums inside the hub and the spring probably need to be replaced....
anyone have any feedback on this or any type of writeup for a DIY?

How long has the sound been going on????if more then a dew days then I would guess to say most likely the brake shoe...if less then a few days and u don't drive much then I would just order the pin and hope that solves the problem...I had a problem with my pin cuz I used too long of a lug bolt...

Any AMG Thats Around..
I usually see this when the wrong lugs are used... if they are a little too long they hit the springs until either the spring is damaged or tears out... if they are really too long they tear up the inside of the hub and everything inside of it...
im sure you guys know this.... but incase you dont....

sooo i changed my wheels and thru my 18s on (that i just sprayed all flat black).....as i was changing the passenger rear wheel (where the noise was coming from), my wheel lock key wasnt working so i was like wtf??? ...n then i was like nooo fkin way and tried my stock wheels lock key and it worked........
when the guy put the freshly powdercoated wheels back on, he ended up using 1 incorrect wheel lock...he used the stock wheel lock which is a little longer than the ones that were supposed to be used...so YES the wheel lug being too long IS what caused the problem....
so i put all the right lugs in, didnt even try fixing anything and no noise!....the ebrake still works too im pretty sure since the wheel wasnt moving......so i think everything turned out okay ....also changed my rear sway bar link which had snapped
thanks for the help guys....i have this brake shoe kit laying around now so if anyone needs it let me know

2000 CLK430 Cabriolet
Hello,
I don't have problem with the parking brake, but I need to replace the disk because a worn pad made metal to metal contact on the disk, scoring it badly, so need to install new pads and 2 new rotor/drums, but can't get the rotor/drums to release.
Am is need of your pdf DIY (deyainrdy4ds) Re. parking brake shoes, etc.. I did this job about 5 years ago (2000 CLK430), but can't seem to remember how to get the rear drum off. Have removed the caliper; the allen head locking bolt, and released the parking brake using the driver's lever release, and beat on the rear disk/drum with a big hammer, but still can't get the darn thing to come loose. Your DIY pdf (deyainrdy4ds), and any suggestions/help from anyone else would be greatly appreciated. Should I just get my really really really big hammer and just go apes_hit on it ?
Anyone ?
Thanks

i did the same thing, i had a flat tire on the side of the freeway. i got all paranoid and try to rush the spare install and my mistake i used the longer lugs. and the moment i put the car into gear and drove (stepped on it cuz i had to get into speed to merge back onto the freeway) i heard a loug clank sounded like something broke and ever since than its been squeaking and making weird sounds in the right rear wheel. everytime i took it to the dealership they were not able to figure it out, i never told them i used longer lugs thats probably my fault. but what sould i do now my car sounds all old rusty and beat up lol
