well the new turbo has been on for a bit now....i just had trouble mountin the exhaust on after the turbo cuz the vband clamp i had was too small..i ordered another, still too small...another, still too small....so i was like *** it and took off the bumper (so it wouldnt burn a hole through it with no exhaust exit) just so i could test it to see if its boosting.......so i did all that but then i noticed its spitting some oil and then max noticed that i need to "clock the turbo" so the return line is facing downward........so basically i tried that a few days ago, but i wasnt able to loosen 4 outa 12 of the bolts to spin around the turbo.....so basically thats where im at right now...those 4 damn bolts wouldnt loosen and i even snapped a wrench tryna do so....... im gunna just try takn it to a shop for that...the car moves and all but i dont wanna push it because the oil that spits a bit....

on the plus side, when i rev, shes holding steady and i def hear more spooling than i was hearing with the last one....boost gauge aint reading anything though but then again, the revvin IS in Park, so i dont know if it would really produce any boost while revvin in Park...

ive jus had no timeee lol ...n then the day i had for clockin the turbo, of course it was just about 100 degrees out :-/ lol ...update tuesday probably

It's the tuning that is the most complicated I feel. Doing it "right" anyway...

had a shop loosen those bolts for me so thats taken care of...now to finish clokin the turbo and then test drive tuesday

ahh man, i was hopin to see the car at HIN in english town this weekend. i saw you 2 years ago at belmont state HIN. def keep us posted, im planning on throwin my hps kit back on my car for round 2. hopefully it all works out and adapts this time around.

damn the crazy part is that i didnt even know that show was this weekend..i been totally outa the show scene since my cars been far from fresh lol....im hoping to get somwhere with this turbo and then refinish my front and rear bumpers and hopefully get in a few shows at the end of the season.....id rather the turbo working than anything else though...

u thru an HPS kit on ur car? didnt work out?

You need (a 2nd) professional help and take this up a notch. It needs to be trustworthy and reliable. Check out some private shops who specialize in turbos in your area. Unfortunately the materials and work may not be up to the safety and power your 430 may be capable of puttin' down. It'd
be a shame to have come this far & melt a piston or ....cause it just didn't hang in there. Even worse, just never make power or work properly

haha, yeh it sucked anyway. i ended up goin on sunday and it was fukn DEAD! either the whole show suckd all weekend or saturday was the day to be there. there was maybe 50 cars and a dj, that was about it. and to top it off there was only lik 5 nopi chics lol pathedic. anyway yeh i picked up a first gen hps kit from a forum member and didnt fully end up "adapting" lik the say. it would adapt but once you turned tha car off it would hav to relearn all over. for the most part it HAULED ***, when it was running right lol. my friend with a decently worked 12 second z28 camaro didnt want to race me once he felt the low end torque. im gunna change some sht around with the fuel delivery and get it dyno tuned this time around.

havent driven my car for about 7-8 months...finally ended up takn the exhaust apart to get a wrench and washer that i got stuck in the downpipe, out....and then finally thru the different turbo on....shes runnin pretty well but i dont think its boostin...it feels crazy at certain points but idk if im jus not used to the car (after not drivin it for so long)..plus the boost gauge isnt reading anything (nothin at all though as opposed to 1-3ish psi like before)...so idk if the boost guage has a problem...heres a rev video from wen i finally got it started again after months....and then jus a lil vid fkin around...

sorry..just came across this again..car was unfortunately totaled during hurricane sandy

car probably would have been saved if i never bothered with this bull**** turbo job ...battery was dead bc she wasnt running because of turbo troubleshooting...otherwise could have got her out of the garage to safety..

I just found this thread and read through the whole thing. Really sorry to hear about the faith of your car.
I saw a video a while back about a w209 500 with a rear mount turbo, running low psi (5-6) factory ECU. Apparently the guy has been running this setup for 40k and it hasn't missed a beat.
Can I run a similar setup on a V6? With low boost and stock ECU... ?
