Hey MB enthusiast
Need some advice.
I looked closely at my rear wheels, looks like the fender has been hitting the wheel quite a bit, to a point where I can't see the brand of the rear tires any longer. I do not have the original mags, nor the original suspension. I suspect bilstein B8 are installed, lowered, and the rear tires are 265/30ZR19.
Front wheels are using 225/35ZR19
I was told by the tire shop to make the rear tires thinner to prevent this. He advice me to sell the R19 and, get R17. He also said my car is shaking at 100km/h because of the R19 mags, and it doesn't fit the car??
These photos show the wear from the rear fenders.

You're rubbing pretty badly on the rears. Try either a tire with a rounded sidewall or a smaller tire.
Are you running a spacer? I currently have 275 tires on the rear with no rubbing issues.
19 inch wheels wont make your car shake if theyre aligned properly. Your mechanic probably just wants them. He is semi-right though when he says they dont fit the car. 19's with 30 aspect ratio are about .78in taller than factory specs.

No spacer. Smaller tire and rounded sidewall are options, any size you recommend. I really don't want to sell my 19s, they look great.
You are right, the tire shop owner wanted my mags, in exchange for 17s with brand new tires.
After getting new tires, I should go get a wheel alignment.

width is 265.
So 3 options now.
1. New thinner tires
2. Back to original suspension
3. Buy 17 in mags (downgrading)

If you take the wheel off, the offset will be labeled something like "et##" on the inside. For example mine says "Et35".
From the pictures it looks like your rear tire is already fairly rounded. You can try stepping down a width with your next tires or buying different 19 inch wheels.
If you buy new 19 inch wheels or just rear wheels, make sure they are no more than 9.5 inches wide and around et35. they should fit no problem.

I am using 225/35 at the front, should I change my 225/35 front to the rear wheels, then buy another two 225/35 for the front.
I don't often see 4 wheels of the same size on a car.

I got my problem solved.
New tires, 255 at the rear, with some camber adjustment, plus 4 wheel alignment. All together for $545.
So now, shall I replace ball joint, tie rod, drag link, bearing etc. Since my main issue has been solved?? Shall I just do it for the sake of getting my hands dirty. ?? lol
Cheers for all the input.
