W208 Climate Control

Just got this car, and this does not seem normal. I put on the climate control to AUTO, and all is good. However when I am on the throttle, the air coming from the vents goes away...until I am back off or light on the throttle, then the air returns to the vents. Any suggestions? Please don't tell me this is normal for this car.

Is there some sort of vacuum storage tank that may be cracked/leaking?

Standing directly in front of the car. In the back of the engine compartment just to the right of the throttle body, there is a black vacuum hose with a white plastic vacuum line. If the line is loose or busted you can lose AC from the center vents under the low vacuum conditions you've described.

That was a great start, thank you! So I checked mine, there is the black connector coming off the engine, then it turns to the hard plastic tube, which goes into the right wheel well, where I found the storage tank. However no leaks, no cracks. I did find that in the middle of the engine compartment, the plastic tube was broken and mended with a small 2" black tube to rejoin. It seems that there was something plastic at that point, a one way/check valve...somethig is missing. Can you please check on your car and let me know if you just have hard tubing on yours in the engine compartment, or if you have some sort of valve on the line? And if so, can I have the part number?

Thank you for your help!
