What speakers have you successfully used on rear deck?
Thanks to a separate thread, I've managed to figure out how to remove the infamous rear deck lid to remove the speakers back there (stock bose subs).
Problem is, the speakers I ordered don't fit the plastic carrier thing the stock speakers sit in. --The lip around the speakers is too thick.
I found out these are 6" speakers once you remove them from the plastic carrier. Finding speakers that fit those carriers is what seems to be challenging. fyi, the speakers I had ordered were the Orion HCCA 6" midbass.
I happened to have a spare set of Infinity Perfect's and those dont seem to fit either
I did read that one thread where the guy installed all 6" Diamond Audio speakers, but he didnt mention how he fit those into the rear deck.
I am open to the possbility of putting 8" mid-bass speakers in there instead somehow. --Has anyone done this successfully?
Of course, I did want a snug fit as these are intended on being mid-bass speakers.
Here is my intended setup:
Alpine MRD-F752 (5-Channel):
Front: 6" Infinity Perfect 6.1 Components
"Rear": 4" Infinity REF-4022cfx Coaxial
Rear Deck: <open to suggestions, two sets did not fit so far>
Alpine MRV-1507 (Bridged)
Subwoofer: 12" JL 12W6 v1
The fifth channel will be summing the bass from the front/rear channels.

The rear shelf can be removed by following this guide and having alot of patience:
I think I might end up screwing some 8" mid-bass speakers or 8" JL subs into the metal with some machine screws. --I don't want any rattle.
This is my second CLK and somewhat of a project car. I've been on this forum for years mostly as a lurker.
