Hello,

I would like to tell you guys from start that i dont know anything about the MB's. This is my first MB. I needed some help regarding the navigation.

The MB navigation sucks. How can i find out which version is it running and is there any way i can upgrade the version without paying the dealorship a lot of money.

I did some searching on the forum regarding this, but there are too many threads which gives you a lot of information. But for now i really need the basic information to start off with.

For example, how can i find out the version running in my car. And what is the latest version for the navigation. How can i upgrade it and do i need to buy new MAP cd's.

Please let me know. Any help will be highly appreciated.

sorry don't know the answer to your question but i have a question about navi so i figured i'd post here instead of having another thread hope u don't mind


when i go to points of interest like for example if im searching for a resturaunt it lists them in alphabetical order, but is there a way for me to type the name in? like last time i was going to search for ihop but i had to scroll my way all the way past the As,Bs,Cs,Ds,Es etc! and it's a pain in the *** is there anyway i can have it jump to I?

Why not eject the navigation CD and read the info on the label? I have a huge COMAND manual that came with the other owner information. Upgrade CDs are often on Ebay.

But wouldnt the command cd have the version of maps instead of the command software version.

I've not heard of any recent firmware upgrades for the CD-based system.

What exactly about the system do you hate? More than likely, your only option for improved functionality is aftermarket.

Can i fit the 2006 CLK 350 Navigation system in the 2003 CLK 320.

Don't think you can from what I've read on here. I've thought about the same thing putting a newer comand into my 04 CLK500

Nope. Everyone would like to be able to do that but it's not possible. The wiring system in the car changed COMPLETELY from '04 to '05. They are not compatible at all.

yeap this is the absolute truth i just am going for pioneer system because far better that original system, i would def of upgraded if we could.

....And which pioneer system u talking abt?? and I have one more question, is it all CLK(W209) have the same offset ? If so, what would that be???

i would go for the hard drive one if i could but, there are a few upgrades i want to do so got to spread the money around.

Hay guys, can anyone advise me about a website for free downloading the CD of the navigation system for my Mercedes coupe CLK 320 (2001). I'm fed up surfing the websites for that software but I got ZERO results .

I forgot to tell U that my Mercedes is imported from Japan and the navigator is active but there are some Japanese words and there are no maps for middle east, also, I can't find the slot from where I can insert the navigation CD . Please Please Help Me.
