Loose glove box latch and mashed iPod cable.
I need a little help with with a couple small issues as I try to get the few bugs out of my "new" car.
1) I have searched, and there are several posts about the latch that holds the gove box door coming loose, but no solutions. Does anybody know how to access the screw or whatever holds that latch tight? Can I get to it just by pulling the CD deck, or do I need to pull the box liner? If I need to pull the liner, anybody have instructions?
2) My car has the factory iPod interface cable installed in the glove box. It must have been smashed in the glove box door because although it works, the end that attaches to the iPod is all mangled. If I buy a new cable, where does the other end connect? Does it fish all the way behind the Nav screen or is it shorter and connects right behind the glove box? Just trying to figure out in advance how hard a job it will be.
Thanks for help on either question.

Pretty easy fix. Remove torx screw in bracket at upper right of changer. Slide changer to the right to disegage tab on left side of changer from glove box. Slide changer straight out. You now have access through a small hole to the torx screw holding the glove box latch. You can experiment sliding the latch in and out and tighten where you need it.

It won't catch the bar, hence it won't stay closed. I took a few pics (one of the bar, one of the latch opened and one closed on the latch on the door). I can't really tell from these if something is broke or not since I never looked at closely before. My son slammed it shut and now it won't stay closed. Anyway, I figure I am going to have to replace the latch piece on the door.

Yidney, thanks for the idea. I moved it to right and back to no avail. If I close the door and hold it shut and then pull on the outside handle there is no resistance. Think I may try to remove that piece tomorrow to get a better look and be able to see how supposed to fit together. In the meantime, I'm holding the door up with velcro.
