Thanks for your reply Rudeney, very good point about the filter. I indeed pulled and cleaned the pan along with the filter, gasket and drain plug washer.
My point was that when someone is short a few liters and wants the MB OEM fluid, as some prefer, and they don't have the luxury of waiting for an online order, it can be found now at Carquest Auto.
BTW, I have run OEM 236.14 ATF for about a year now in my '99 CLK320 (105k) without any problems. 236.10 has become more expensive on the occasional ebay listings since it seems to have been discontinued and has now entered the "collector" status in some sellers' minds.

Yes, it's good to know there is another source for fluid. And for those people hoarding the 236.10, they just don't understand that 236.14 is just a better version and is fully backward compatible.
