Car cover question
I see a couple of different part numbers for a car cover, and some call out for convertable. Is there a different cover for the convertable? Would not think so..

I see a 71 and 70 version. Do I just need a w209 cover? Thanks for any input

Dan, thanks, the clk convertable top cover you have for $75 does not say its for a 2007, ends at 2003. assume this also fits the 07? Is that a one size fits many or made for the clk? Will those straps scratch the car? Can I pick up in nashua? Something like this would fit the bill...goal is to keep pine sap off my top when I head to the lake house on weekends. Lemme know...Thx

We do keep a different part number for the convertible and coupe. Here are the links to custom-fit, select-fit (very popular) and our exclusive Top Cover/Full Car Sun Shade products for the A209/C209. - Dan

The OEM part number for the CLK Cabriolet W209 cover is Q-6-6-0071...it IS different than one for a sedan or the coupe btw.

What is the difference between the two other than an antenna being on the roof/glass of the coupe? I would imagine the overall shape of the convertible fitting the coupe...?

Does anybody use OEM cover? How good is it? Waterproof? Layers? Plush inside? I would appreciate some feedback from users.

Fit is fine, and to be honest it makes me wonder what the main difference between the coupe and convertible versions really differ. Only issue I have is that we have that stupid *** telephone antenna on the rear windshield and if you push too hard it WILL poke a hole in the cover (any cover for that mater if you are not careful), so I will be removing the antenna this weekend when I get time.
It's much thicker than my car cover for my STi. I have a custom fit Cover Craft indoor Flex cover which I think was close to $300-400. That is pretty much indoor only, you put it outside and it will get wet and probably get ruined. I was actually quite surprised at the thinness of my Cover Craft cover, but it is SOOOO soft compared to the Mercedes NOAH cover.
The Mercedes cover is nice. Harder to put onto the car than my STi cover, and the mirror pockets are much bigger than they need to be. I prefer a much closer fit for covers, but this will definitely block sun/rain...etc. It has the Mercedes star logo up front and says Mercedes Benz on the rear driver side part of the cover. The cover does not go completely 100% to the ground which I would have liked. If the car was lowered a couple inches it probably would... Perhaps this is why the cover for my STi practically goes to the bottom of the wheels...
Minor gripe is that the material used on the NOAH cover wrinkles and looks like ***... this might change if it was in sunlight and the material warmed up. It's 40 degrees here so that could be why as well.
I am strictly using this cover in my garage. I was tired of wiping dust off the cars and motorcycles so everything is covered...lol Plus they don't get driven often so taking the cover on and off might be more of a pain in the *** IF you have this outside and constantly having to do that. I don't know how this would be if it was pouring or snow outside and the exterior was dirty... where would you keep it, the trunk? It does come with a small bag to put the cover in.
Overall this is a decent cover, not worth the $250 that Mercedes is charging, but if you can get it for $100-130, I'd say go for it.
I can take pictures of the cover for you if you'd like to see. I'll post them up tomorrow.

I have the Mercedes OEM with the antenna space and it fits my convertible fine. I'm not positive but I think the OEM cover is for indoor use. I have a Cover Craft outdoor cover that waterproof, breathes, etc but I don't leave the car out anymore.
