clk clicking sound from dash w209
Guys help me out. The last weeks there is a clicking sound that comes from the dash that stays for minutes .it comes even when i turn the car off.now iknow about it might be stepper motor teeth but to let you understand the middle vents (above esp button etc)and the outer ones(passenger and driver window) no more blow air .the car came with auto climate and rear seats a/c.
Please guys tell me is this faulty motor reachable if i remove yhe vents or maybe some of the dash covers.? Because if the hole dash needs to be taken out then @@@@. but cant stand it the noise makes driving a bad experience.

Likely a stepper motor or broken stepper motor arm. They were redesigned.
To replace a large proportion of the dash has to come out. Suggest you leave it to someone at a dealership that does it every day. They are amazingly quick & know all the tricks to get it done efficiently & so that the dash does not rattle after reassembly. It's not a pleasant job.

Hey buddy this happened to me as well and i blamed the stepper motor. I ended up changing the blower, and blower resistor but it didnt work. Turns out i took out the climate control, disconnected it and connected it again, cold a/c blowing to my face with 100 degrees outside.
Good luck should you try this!

i had the clicking noise as well and one of the stepper motor arm was broken, replace it with updated version all is good, cost $8, i had to buy 2 in a package. only used one. anyway after installation the srs light came on and had to buy the carsoft software to replace it, i think taking the cluster out trigger it. i think a guy with a bit of patience can do this probject. just look up the the diys for the w203 i think, it's very detail.
