06 CLK 350 Instrument Cluster Replacement

The clock in my 2006 CLK 350 went crazy and finally stopped working. Dealer wanted to replace the instrument cluster for $2200.00. Not going to happen at that price.

I have purchased a new cluster and have the original loose from the dash. Swapping the units looks straight forward with only one connector.

I have read that the computer will need to be programmed by the dealer, but will anything work after the replacement? Can the dealer reprogram the original mileage?

Mileage will read as dashes. Best thing is to swap out your old board. There is a DYI thread. Or maybe just the clock?
