Wheel install St. Louis with spacers
Does anyone know where in st. louis i can install my aftermarket wheels, with spacers??
I just got some amg reps that have a 35mm offset that require 10mm spacer only in the front.
For some reason no one wants to install hub centric wheel spacers. Everyone says there unsafe, but i cant find any hard evidence showing these are unsafe.
anyway, any help and advice would be great.
thanks guys

I think generally it's an issue of profit vs liability. How much can they charge you to install spacers and wheels...30$? If anything goes wrong with your aftermarket spacers they're liable...which is hardly worth it for 30$.
Just install yourself. If you can take off a wheel you can install a spacer. There's no need for a shop.

fatz,
No there isn't, just the few big name shops
megacrazy,
yeah i understand your point, i can install them myself, my only concern is torquing the lug nuts at the end. i guess i could tighten them as much as possible then take it to a shop near by and have them check its done fully.
what do you think?
Thenoble,
yeah its nice to see you here as well. most people in stl with mercs are not enthusiasts.

Never tighten wheel bolts "as much as possible." Like everything else, there is spec for it. I thinks it's around 80ft/lbs. You can get a torque wrench cheap at an auto parts store. They are handy to have. I assume you got longer bolts to allow for the spacers.

Yeah never go crazy tightening bolts. Check the manufacturer instructions for values. Simply stick with them and you should be good. A torque wrench can be had for 30$ at Autozone or whatever.
The bad stories you hear about spacers are generally related to people doing stupid things like using the wrong bolts or over/under tightening things. I ran spacers on some of my cars without any issues at all.
Also, don't forget to do a check 25-50 miles later to make sure things are still tight. I never did...but if it makes you feel better do it
