2003 CLK200k
Cener console latch and foot brake
Hi there,
Sorry, still getting used to this, this is my first post
Okay, so I've just bought my first Merc, a 2003 CLK200k and so far I can say im very pleased with it.
However, I have two small niggles with it that are bothering me.
1) The center console (the thingy you rest your arm on in the middle) seems ro have a mind of its own. Whichever way i turn the key in it, it does not seem to have any effect whatsoever, i.e. The panel opens and closes normally. Also, when I pull up both handles the box underneath comes up as well, and then it takes a bit of fiddling around to close the whole thing again. Is this normal?
Any ideas what I can do to fix the key issue? Or, any parts I would need to buy? (I do like having a bit of "private" space :p )
2) whenever I pull the handle to release the parking brake, the pedal goes up but the warning stays on, I would then need to bend down and pull the pedal up by hand, and the warning goes out. Is this easily fixed?
Oh, and also another small issue (sorry ). I have not managed to open the car using the manual key. It goes in and turns , but the car does not open. Is there a special technique or is the tumbler kaput?
Thanks

I'll try to help you out.
1. i really didnt understand what happened here so your going to have to re-explain this problem hehe
2. this sounds like your handbrake wires are a bit loose, does your handbrake hold on inclines?
3. Also your key problem, sounds like the key lock is just loose from the door lock, are you inclined to take apart the door?
