Oil change

A guy can never have enough tools - and for me, docs qualify as tools. I want copies of every factory W208 manual out there. ESPECIALLY if they’re digital (less shelf space). Come on guys, quit holding out. Somebody point me to the doc with port specs on a C43 cylinder head, the differences in cam specs between the early and late 55 NA engines, and the complete ME 2.8 “diagnostic” guidelines.

In the old days overfilling the sump just made for more foaming of the oil. But now that we have multiple catalytic converters things are different. Over-filling the sump can lead to oil getting past the piston rings and into the combustion chambers. And apparently oil that doesn't get fully burned by the engine burns in the cats, overheating and melting them. The American wife's Audi has a sticker that says that overfilling the oil can damage the catalytic converter.
The same thing happens with ignition mis-fires. And from what I've heard you really don't want that happening on a MB.
