Do you have a factory AMG, but no engine builder's plaque? If so, you're invited to become a member of the AMG Orphans Club International. Please contact me for your member number.

Qualifying cars include:
Any vehicle (including pre-merger) that was an AMG factory car, but had no engine builder's signature plate.
All pre-merger AMGs
W202 C36, C43, C55
W210 E50, E60, E55 (I think there may have been a 6.2L special here and there as well)
W201 3.2
W124 E60, W124 3.4, 3.6
W208 CLK55 (coupes and cabs)
W163 ML55
W463 G55 (early, normally aspirated)
W220 S55 (to '02), S63 ('01)
W215 CL55 (to '02)
Early R170 SLK32s without the sig. plate
Early W203 C32s without the sig. plate
R129 SL55, SL60, SL70, SL73
CLK GTR
There may have even been an A-class AMG w/o the sig. plate

There is NO COST to join this virtual group. This enthusiasts group is not officially endorsed, supported or sponsored by Mercedes-AMG or any other commercial entity. There are NO DUES, just enjoyment, camaraderie, enthusiasm, and entertainment. Join us!

They probably came up with that 'one man one engine' PR bla bla after 2003. Since the. All cars seem to have one...

Interesting...perhaps it has an engine cover similar to the later W209 CLK55 or R171 SLK55??
