Best way to lower your CLS550???
#52
Hi guys. I too am looking to lower my 07cls550.
Taking cost out of the equation, which is better for the vehicle longterm? Renntech v3 or star? Will I be able to get the same amount of drop from either?
Also, I'm in Phoenix AZ and can't find any dealer willing to use star. I'm happy to drive out to so.cal but I need a name/shop out there where its been done before. Any recommendations???
Thanks in advance!

[2/3/2014 I had a Mercedes technician try to lower the car through STAR... he lowered the left and right front , then the rear... with about 1 finger space from tire to fender...looked Siiiiick... but it wouldn't save... says it was outside the parameters.... Does anyone on here know what the lowest settings are that STAR will accept? we tried several heights and no go...
please help sol I can relay info over to technician

STAR only gives you about 0.75" max, even when it accepts the new heigt, when you start the car, it adjusts. I recently had it with a W221 S-class.
When you want some serious lowering, there are only 2 ways:
- Lowering Module
- Lowering Links
I prefer the module , way easier and you can adjust as much as you want/need...

I had my CLS lowered via Ghostlinks. it looked awesome and dropped even more in Sport 2.
I then just purchased the LOMO1 with dash cointrols and have not had time to take my links out. it looks great and sits nice and low when i want it. i may leave the links too

Lakehouse, this still has the links.. set at -5 front and -4 rear. It looks really good at -7 all the way around but the ride is a little bumpy. it does not rub. Its gonna look great when the VOSSEN CV-4 20's come in next week... and when the snow melts

the Lomo1 can be controlled with your steering wheel, its visible in the instrument cluster.
the V2 has a remote, on which you can basicly do the same as the Lomo1, onlly it's less "stealth"...
i have the V2 and I'm very happy, great stuff
I drive at -50mm in front and -35 in rear...
do note, these are my 18" winter wheels... I'm thinking of getting Vossens for the next summer
