Which battery is bad ???
2006 CLS500/44000 miles. When I insert the key and turn the key to the ON position I get a message with a red battery outline and the words "visit workshop", nothing else; I continue to turn the key and the engine starts fine and the message goes away. No problem the rest of the day. the next day it happens again when I start it up for the first time that day. Car runs fine no other messages appear.
What do you think is the problem. Main battery; SBC battery?
Thanks for any input.

Yep; you were correct. Went to my semi-trusted independent Merc/BMW/Porsche repair shop . they scanned the whole electrical system and verified that it was the SBC battery; replaced it and I'm out the door only $250 lighter-a bargain in Benz land !!
Thanks very much for your analysis; without it who knows what they would have soaked me for.

No problem. I checked and was aware they had the battery ($105 here) then I watched the Utube video on replacing it. I decided that I could afford to let them do it. I'm 74 and don't really want to mess with fixing cars any longer; just like to know what the water is really like before I jump in. Thanks again.
