CLS 320 cdi
Strange movement.

I have a CLS320 CDI, absolutely love it but, yes there is a but.
When pulling up gently and coming to a stop it will start to shake from side to side. Sometimes it doesn't do it, sometimes it's very slight, you can just feel a shimmy through the seat. Other times it's quite violent. Then for several weeks it won't do it at all. However every time you pull up I a waiting for it to start, it really spoils a super car.
It did it once and I was able to get to the dealer while it was still doing it, they diagnosed the torque converter and changed it, sadly this has not made any difference. Even had the engineer out twice on a drive but typically it behaved perfectly.
Any one else had similar problems, and if so what caused it, my used car warranty runs out in October so really want it sorted.
Any suggestions gratefully received.

Roscoe

Well although a lot of you read this post no one gave any reply
So just in case in one is interested here is what happened.
Dropped it off at the excellent dealer in Wakefield, they assured me not to worry we will fix it for you.
They lent me an almost brand new C220, very nice, but not a CLS.
Two and a half days later a phone call to tell me it was sorted and ready to collect.
The problem turned out to be a faulty Torque converter lock up solenoid !
With this replaced the car is smooth and drives better than it has ever done before. So relieved.

Good to hear Roscoe. My guess would have been engine mounts or a misfire.
