Diesel won't start
I have a 84 300D that won't start.. replaced the battery, replaced the Starter, cleaned the glow plugs and the carbon out of the cylinders. Now when I turn on the ignition the Glow Plugs will not come on. This is turning into a nightmare, thanks for anhy help !!!

The neutral safety switch can keep it from cranking. Move the shifter around to different positions in park, and also try neutral, to see if it will crank. The relay box, often called the K40 relay, can also keep it from cranking, as can poor connections from the battery to the starter. I don't know your car, so these are general suggestions.

I'm not positive yet, but I think it's a bad glow plug and I hear they are in series and when one stops working they all do. I've also had a couple of bad batteries that were putting out only 10.72 volts, gotta be a minimum of 12.5. So, I've got quite a few issues to follow on.

A bad glow plug will not keep it from cranking, or turning over. I would not expect a '95 to have glow plugs in series, but I don't know your car. A bad battery would generally make it crank slowly, unless it was very dead, in which case it would not crank. A jump from another car would make it crank, if it were a battery problem.

Your talking about the Glow Plug Relay correct.? If I go to attempt to start the car now, there isn't even a click and the glow plug light doesn't even come on, could it be the battery or the ignition switch..? I know my battery is bad, i'm changing it tomorrow. My glow plug relay is good and the Pencil Type glow plugs are good. I'm leaning towards the battery or starter solenoid or starter, but they are brand new.

On my '87 300D I had about 3 or 4 burnt out glow plugs, and it still started fine - so long as I had it plugged in on cold nights - if not - it would just crank indefinitely until the battery died.

If your battery is bad, you should still be able to boost it. But make sure you have heavy enough booster cables - those cheap ones won't do the trick, they'll heat up like a toaster coil before you get enough current to actually start the car.
