OM 602 Dela mecanical pump ajustings
Hello forum, im Tömu originaly from swizerland, now living in west-africa exactly benin.
i have just increased to my 309d 4x4 model from 1987 an 312d sprinter engine. as in africa fuel is verry bad quality i did eject the original distribution electric injeton pump.
these are my first expieriences on ajusting injector pump and smoke.
so i observe that before te Turbo starts to blow, i have black smoke. so the injector pump is mountet with the ALDA device. it is conected.
when the engine is on full load, there is verry litle black smoke coming. i would say normal. like with original engine.
now the ALDA box has an ajusting bolt. i did screw it in until no smoke comes, but then when the turbo comes the engine does not realy start to push.
and the engine does not realy start fast to go in high rpm in neutral gear.
whitch ajusting i can do for to diminue the smoke?
greetings from Benin
Tömu

it was quiet hard to add turbo to this van:
pipes for turbo air, pretty small engine space!
the turbo fits for about 1 -2 cm to the cabin.
this is the van. realy good travel car for africa.
until now i did not find any ajusting information. so far im like this. here nobody cares about smoking cars.

I have no adjusting info for you, but wanted to give a thumbs up on the rock'n paint job!
Is that a snorkel on the passenger side? Do you have all the air intakes and vents (engine, transmission, differentials, cabin air, etc.) plumbed to it?
