I'm not totally sure, but I think you must have the Command system to stream Bluetooth audio. If not, Parrott has what you need.

Bit of a thread resurrection

I have a 2010 e350cdi with command nav and Bluetooth phone etc. I've followed the instructions to activate Bluetooth music streaming which now appears in the audio list. However when I click on the connected phone (iPhone 6), it say connection unsuccessful and if you search for a device it can't find one.

Any help/suggestions would be gratefully received.

I thought I'd figured it out! When I turn the ignition off and back on again I have to do an external authorisation to get the BT streaming to work, it connects to the phone for telephone fine. Any suggestions?

My Bluetooth streaming does not automatically turn on unless I first select a program such as Pandora or my music files on the phone. Then it streams. Upon restart of the car, usually the streaming is present. No need to select programs on the phone again if your phone is already set on any of the music sources.

Your only option is the Aux cable located in the glove compartment or in the center console. Without Command, I think you have no Bluetooth streaming.

Even with the update?

So, does the Aux works with Android phones too?

If your Android has a separate plug (not the one used for downloads or charge),
then you should be able to play music from your phone.
Dig out your owners manual to find out how to access your phone to play music via the aux cable. This is how I had to play music on a C300 that I no longer own. You need to select a category from the drop-down menu. Cannot remember which selection I used.
The Aux will not charge your phone.

I just picked up a 2012 cabriolet. I believe it should be standard, and just a part of the bluetooth connectivity mechanism. I just hit the disc button until the BT streaming option shows up

The older Comand units do not offer any kind of music streaming, unless you buy the module from benz themselves which can range up to $500. Does you car have the MMI port in either the center console or the glove box?

So here is what I have learned so far. I went in to the engineering menu and turned on streaming. Im running an ipad mini for pandora and WAZE. What I have noticed is that it only decides to work intermittently. I have to reauthroize and even then it will sometime not connect. I have yet to get it to consistently connect every time. This is on a 2010 E63 with nav.

That's the exact issue I have. Everything I turn off the car I have to re authorise the phone to play music. It must be a simple fix surely?
