I am in the market for a 2010-2012 E350 Coupe and my budget is $30-35K I found some low mile vehicles in craigslist, but before I pull the trigger I would like some of your expert opinions on purchasing a vehicle from a private party. also is there a huge difference in the E350's from 2010 to 2012 ? Thanks so much in advance for any and all suggestions. My name is Cesar , I live in Santa Clarita CA near Magic Mt.
Welcome! Dkchips and dsurr gives really good advice wait for their response.
Looks like the 2012 E350 I mentioned earlier really did sold. See if you can get a 2012 E350 with AMG package, p1 premium package, wood trim, distronics and driver assist with less than 20k miles with clean carfax and full inspection for $37k. I guess that's a good deal (see previous posts). Right after I posted about the car here, it's gone someone must've bought it. Dealers should advertise on this forum...

Thank you John, I just want to get some sound advice from the folks that are more familiar with these vehicles. I like dealing with private parties mainly to avoid paying high taxes and all the hassle that comes with dealing with sales people at Dealerships.

John have you found a vehicle yet ?

I recently bought a 2011 E350 Coupe from my dealer. 17,000 miles and pretty well loaded. I most likely paid a couple thousand more from the dealer, but is was a CPO, serviced and inspected and came with a 100K warranty and three free services. I financed part of the cost and got that at 1.9%. The services, warranty and dealer history was definitely worth it. Peace of mind also played a big part of my decision.
Simple transaction. I was in and out in less than two hours.
Good luck with your decision.

Hey Cesar, you should have no problem getting a great car for your budget in California based on previous posts here. The 2012 model has a new upgraded engine with about 40 hp more than previous models. I would get a carfax on any car you are considering. If low miles you will get balance of manuf warranty. Good luck

Thank you Sir !!!
so you wouldn't call me crazy for purchasing a low mile vehicle from a private party , as long as I get a carfax and the vehicle is still under Manufactury warranty ?? I am getting this correct ?

Thanks again for any suggestions...

Fellas, can some of you with more knowledge on how to negotiate a good price please give me some pointers on this vehicle that I am interested in.

it is a 2012 E350 Coupe (CPO) at a dealer near me.
they are asking $43,910.00 , what is a good price for me to start my negotiation at ?
I am currently communicating with the Internet sales manager from the dealership, but we haven't talked about price at all.

I can pay cash for the vehicle or I can finance, I have the option to both either.

Please help me out and let me know what you guys would consider to be a fair price to pay for this vehicle.

Please keep in mind that I am located in California and we usually have to pay a bit higher for things here.

Also please let me know if the package that this vehicle is equip with is a decent package ??

Thanks in advance for any advise.

Cesar

That's a high price for even a Cabriolet in that model. I paid $35K for a low mileage 2011 E350 CABO

Thanks...I will keep that in mind...

most of the 2012's that I see are priced from $39K to $43K out here.

what would you consider a fair price for this vehicle ?
do you think that the fact that it is a Blu Tech car makes the price higher ?

are you located in California ? I dont think I can find a vehicle out here for $35K, such as the one you bought.

That is too high, I believe. You can get a 2012 e350 coupe white with almond interior with 19k miles for $36k or a red 2012 e350 coupe P2 with 16k miles for $37k here in Dallas and have it shipped to you for a grand. I bought a 2012 e550 coupe with 11k miles for $45k here. Dkchips said Cali was cheaper there due to the volume of units available.

yikes... I wonder where Dkchips lives...I look almost daily at AutoTrader and Craigslist and I am not able to find any 2012 E350 Coupe under $39K here in Cali.

I would also not be comfortable purchasing a high priced vehicle out of state without doing an inspection in person and test driving it first. and by the time I fly out to Texas and back I'll have to spend some money plus the registration will most likely be higher if I bring an out of State vehicle to California.....

man this is becoming more difficult than what I had anticipated...

Thank you for all your advise, i really appreciate it.

I am in no rush to purchase the vehicle so I will take my time until the right one comes along.....

this is an email I just received from the Internet sales manager at the Dealer in regards to the vehicle:

Hi Cesar,

This is not BlueTec. There is not Coupe BlueTec. This car is completely reconditioned to MB CPO standards. Has extended warranty until January 17, 2017 and UNLIMITED miles! Clean history. As good as it can get. Worth top dollars.

Also I can get you 1.99 % APR for upto 66 months. This will save you thousands of $$$$.

What would you be willing to pay for it? What's your budget?

Let me know,

======================

what should I tell him that my budget is, without insulting his intelligence ??

Thanks but I rather not buy an car from out of State.
I want to be able to test drive and inspect the vehicle in person, before making a purchase.

2012 CLS550, 2014 E350 C,2010 E350 Sport - sold, 2006 CL500 -SOLD, 2006 E350 - SOLD - 2006 Saab 9.3
I'm back - was in Maui

Hi Guys ,

on vacation on Maui - sorry for not chiming in

ANYWAY - STAY AWAY FROM Mercedes Encino - bad rep

go to Keyes, FJ and Walters web sites and search CPO E350 from 2011 -2013
check out pricing
Keyes drops pricing each Sunday evening on unsold inventory
FJ runs specials each week
Walters will price match similar cars

Plenty of CPO 350's in SOCAL - all with the special unlimited mileage warrany for now.

be ready to walk from any deal - hold tight and you'll get the right price.

not a bad deal

The E350 Coupe at Calabasses is a good deal but it does not have the sport adjustable seats, blind spot assist, AMG sport package, zeon headlights etc.

the price is aggressive though

Thank you !!!

I also checked with the Sales manager in San Diego in regards to the car you found. the Carfax shows that it was in an accident and the hood and left front fenders have been repainted, that is why the car is not CPO.

I am also in contact with the internet sales person at Calabasas.

Thanks for all your help and advise.
Enjoy Hawaii......!!!

I found one at Keyes, but I think the price is a bit too high:
