E Coupe Underrated

Is it just me or is the E-coupe underrated within the automotive industry? When I originally bought mine I was looking at 6 series and Audi A5's but they had my E550 on the lot and I was sold. For me it was the lack of a B pillar that grabbed my attention. I don't know what other coupe under $100k has this. And the fact that this is one of the lightest/aerodynamic cars with the 5.5 liter engine in if.

Lastly the actually useable backseat is a major plus. Coming from mustangs and camaro's I can tell you this the most comfortable back seat in a coupe I've ever seen.

Just wanted to show some love to the car we all love. Feel free to agree or disagree.

I think the 2012+ E550 Coupe with the biturbo is underrated. It has lots of upgrades potential. It is a great looking car with a decent interior. For the longest time I really had my heart set on one because of no B Piller. Just stunning looking. Unfortunately even thou it is a E Class it is not big inside. I personally do not find the rear seats to be useful. Fine for 2 people but nowhere near the room of the CL Coupe.

2014 E550 Coupe and 2010 E350 Sedan
I agree. I am a little partial to my post-face lifted version of our cars, but I think both are great. I feel it is an under-appreciated and relatively unknown gem in it's price range. Like you, I was looking at many different makes and models.

I feel like they could easily make an AMG version of the coupe, but just decided not to.

I love the taillights on the face lifted model. The tuneability of the biturbo engine is also a definite plus.

@C280-I sat in the backseat for about 30 minutes and was pleasantly surprised at the amount of room. Granted I'm 5'9" and 130 pounds so I don't take up much space haha

TOTALLY agree. The E-coupe/cab with V8 is just and awesome car - Needs wider wheels/tires as standard though. I love both the pre and post facelift for slightly different reasons. And some of the deals you can get on these cars is amazing.

C63 S Cab, Previous Maserati Granturismo Sport and E550 Cab
I also agree. I picked my E550 cabrio over a Mercedes SL550, Maserati Granturismo, e92 BMW M3 convertible, Audi S5 cabriolet, and Porsche 997 911 cabriolet (all cars used). When people hear that they are like wow you should have bought something else. I honestly don't know why the E550 coupe/convertible is so underrated in the eyes of car enthusiasts. However the general public seems to love them and my car is complemented pretty much every day.

'12 e550 renntech ecu tune 530 hp 606 lb torque,02 s430
This is my third Benz first was 02 clk and backseat was useless except for young kids . This e550 is defin useable and not cramped unless you are a real big person. But he car is a beast! Advertised at 402 hp but it's actually more like 450. I did a ecu upgrade from renntech and it cranks out 530 hp now for a cost of 2700. I didn't see the reason in paying amg price when I could get the same power with a simple upgrade. I don't mind spending money but I won't throw it away. This is a keeper

I also think the same, I choosed an 2013 E500 coupe instead an 997, SL500, 640i and others and I think the E500 coupe is a sleeper

PS: I was comparing to the new M4, numbers say the E500 is slower but I would be curious to see how much slower! (it's a bit heavier +200kg maybe because of that!)
