advice on E550 coupe 2010 vs 2012

Hello everybody,

This is my first post here and your inputs are appreciated.

I am looking to buy either a 2010 or 2012 E500 coupe. I know the 2010 is 5.5 V8 and the 2012 is 4.7 twin turbo V8 but how much is the the 2012 better in term of dollars.

My question: is it worth to pay around 6000 USD more to buy the 2012 instead of the 2010?

I have read threads here about 5.5 vs 4.7 but dont know how much more is the 2012 worth it.

Thanks in advance

Can you provide more details on option, miles, color, etc. differences between the 2010 and 2012 you are looking at? $6K does not seem that much more for 2 Model Years newer (especially if mileage is reflective of those 2 years). I would recommend going with the newer model - the TTV8 alone is reason enough!

2010 E500 with 60,000km and one year warranty
2012 E500 with 44,000km and one year warranty
6k for 2 years newer and 16000km less seemed reasonable to me too.
thanks guys. now lets start the bargain with the dealer

My opinion: go with the 2012 E550. There is a huge difference in performance.

I agree $6K difference is not bad for a car 2 years newer and 18K miles is 2 to 3 years driving if it's not your primary car......good luck
