Stock E550C goes 12.44 @ 112 mph
Hey guys, finally got my new car to the track. Lebanon Valley Dragstrip
outside Albany NY. Ran on Wed street night and only did one
run because I was so shocked and then it got crowded.
Conditions were ok but not great with temp at 76 degrees and density
altitude = 2131 ft. So with a little better weather there is another tenth
or two.
Did a couple things for prep .... removed spare tire and floor mats. Quarter
tank of gas and I have aFe air filters. And 45lbs of air in front tires.
Got a great launch on stock 255 tires with a 1.93 60ft.
403 hp ??????

Very nice! Consistent time with other stock TTV8 E550 coupe runs I've seen. It would appear with those times that power is definitely underrated. Dyno for my totally stock E550 Coupe yielded 369 Wheel HP (450HP at crank assuming an 18% drivetrain loss), 430 Wheel HP after a simple Stage 1 ECU Tune by OE Tuning.

Nice to see more owners enjoying this car.. Owned mine since 2013, tuned since then too.
I would love 4m and 4 doors for the kids, but the look, power to weight ratio is making it hard to trade in.

2014 E550 Cabriolet, 2014 Porsche Cayenne Diesel
That is blistering fast for a luxury coupe that runs as quiet as the 550 does. I suppose with my cabriolet's weight penalty I'm a couple tenths slower. Best thing I did was buy the V8, really makes this a special car. The torque is so addictive.

Cant compare the coupe with the sedan. Two different cars. The coupe
is built on the C frame and is very similar to the C63. (except we have
more torque). The Cabriolet pays about a 100 lb penalty which is about a
tenth.
Oh yeah and the coupe looks so much better !

Yeah of course. How is your car after the OE tune ? Would you recommend
OE ? Would like to ask this forum about their tunes ? FFR I really like
your grill mods. Makes the car look like a new model ! Did you install
the front turn signal lenses ? The clear/tinted looks so much better than
the yellow.
Will try to take the car to as quick as I can get it this yr and maybe next
before I consider a tune.

A bit off topic but, what the hell, worth a try.
I've got a '11 E550 coupe with the naturally aspired engine. Is an ecu tune worth let? If so, has anyone done it and is there a reliable tuner in The SF Bay Area that someone can refer me to?
Thanks

I have had the Stage 1 ECU Tune from OE Tuning for about a year now and am still impressed with the power increase. I have not had a single issue post tune with my E-coupe and highly recommend this tune from OE Tuning.

I had the clear signal lenses and front grill installed at a local body shop and yes agree that it looks way better than the factory Orange. The turn signal lights actually light up orange when in use as I put the special bulbs with silver coating so you don't see orange at all unless lit which also makes it legal in most states.
Here's some pics of grill and clear side marker:

Look forward to seeing your progress.

Although not as significant as in the TT-V8, there is a noticeable difference from what I've read on this forum with an ECU tune on NA V8 in both throttle response and power. Also very reasonable cost: http://www.oetuning.com/products/mer...z-e550500-2354

115 mph is really making HP. I think the major difference is air
quality. DA on the day I ran was 2100 ft ...... not that great. That
is my next major mod, picking the right day with good DA (<500 ft)
It makes a big difference that most people don't realize.

Very nice!
I just bought a CPO 2014 E550 Coupe yesterday with 22k miles on it. My wife and I already own a CLS550 so this is a nice addition to the family. I love this car.

Bought my last two cars similar, 25-30K miles, just off 3 yr lease, from
Florida (I live in NY). Great value at just about 1/2 new car MSRP !
Good luck with the car.

I'm not in the sf area, but do allot of mods for the 5.5 n/a motor. I have headers and other performance parts and do SpeeDriven tunes. Pm if you have questions on that motor. My clk 550 runs strong., #cdmmotorsports
