2010 E550 coupe Help!!! ESC appeared then disappeared, now check engine light on!!!
I have a 2010 E550 coupe, and yesterday I was driving from lunch, and there was slightly traffic, standing still every so often, not to mention it was HOT (heat indexes over 105)!!! As I am about to accelerate from the stop light, the ESC light comes on the dash, and I get the message that goes along with it (esp inoperable see manual) and my car wouldn't accelerate over 5 mph. So I coast to the gas station, and park in the shade and turn the car off for 5 minutes. I turn it back on, the message is gone, and it drives just fine. I immediately drive it home, and let it sit until the sun was going down, ran an errand up the street, still no message and car runs fine. I go back home, and about 2 hours later, I go get dinner up the street. Still all good. I pull into my driveway and now the check engine light comes on. Has anyone else had this happen to them? Could the heat be the culprit of all this causing the car to reset itself? The battery was replaced by the previous owner right before he sold the car to me, which was a little under 2 years ago. HELP!!!

Update...went to O'Reilly and had them run their check engine diagnostic...the guy agreed with meach that it may not pull what it is...but shocked us and it did...gave a p2101 throttle actuator control motor circuit range...Google searche'd and seems this is a $1200 sensor...I'm going to get an official diagnosis on it monday...

I had the same exact problem with my 2010 E350 coupe. Happened twice a few weeks apart and could barely accelerate. Pulled over, restarted, message disappeared. The third time scared the he-l out of me. I was entering a highway trying to merge into 70mph traffic and pressed hard on the accelerator pedal. The same problem occurred at a critical time. I thought I was going to cause a serious accident.
I quickly swerved to the shoulder of the highway and stopped. After calming down, I restarted the car and drove directly to the dealer. They diagnosed the problem as the accelerator module and replaced the module. Luckily for me my car is still covered under the extended warranty.
Good luck with getting your car repaired.

funny thing is i went to pick up the car today, and he reset it all and the check engine light is no longer there...he said his tech drove it around, and the ESC message never appeared either...but as soon as i got about 5 miles out from the shop, the message appeared...my next step is im just gonna replace the pedal and see what happens from there since that seems to be the common solution...

As soon as I got home from work I started the car, lifted the hood and heard humming...it was very loud and obvious...I started seeking and about 30 seconds later found what is in the pic below...I'll be ordering more hoses asap...lol

are you talking about the cracks on the plastic flex portion of the air intake pipe? Deff replace that but... i don't think that would cause your issue
