1990 300CE Instantly Blowing "C" Fuse !! WHY??
Hello Friends;
Trying to get my newly acquired 1990 300 CE-24( THANKS Jayre) back to its proper Glory...The "C" fuse in main fuse box keeps blowing "Instantly" upon putting it in. According to fuse box diagram; this fuse controls rear roof light, trunk light, rear door locking system, safety belt handover arm, seat back arrester, central locking system, door lamps, reading lamps, aut antenna, control unit seat adjustment.
i am using the correct 8amp Red copper fuse......
Since fuse blows instantly when i put it in- i even disconnected Negative post on battery ; put fuse in then...... But as soon as i connect that Negative post; that same Fuse Blows instantly just the same.
I have removed and cleaned Both ground points (driver side rear in trunk AND under right side hood on shock tower) but still same result ; Blown C fuse
Any and All Help, Suggestions and Advise is Greatly Appreciated....
Thanks in Advance ..........Chance

Something like this happened to my other car many years before. The culprit was later found to be poor contacts and loose wire touching ground somewhere. Need to isolate each possibility to track it down.
