What size tires are best for my new 19's?
I have a 1997 W210 E320 Sedan. I love this car, I'm never getting rid of it.
Okay, now that that's out of the way. I swapped out my spring pads in the front and the back. I went 9mm in the front, and 5mm in the rear, and I think it looks great, and I didn't have to mess with the camber. It wasn't too extreme. I'd say it lowered the car maybe an inch if that.
I'm upgrading my wheels to 19's. I purchased some Mercedes aftermarket wheels on Ebay. 19 8.5 in the front, and 19 9.5 in the rear. 5 x 112 with an offset of 32 in the front, and 35 in the rear.
What size tires should I put on? 235/35/19 in the front, 265/30/19 in the rear or 245/35/19 front, 275/30/19 in the rear.
I'm not too worried about the width on the rear tire. I never have people in the back seat. But is it possible to go 285?
In the front I've heard of issues with rubbing against the bolt that hangs from the suspension if your tires are too wide and you have a bad offset. So I'm concerned about this. I don't want to rub period. Ideally, I'd like to run 245's in the front, but I need an expert's opinion.
Let me know what you guys think.
I appreciate the help.

differently. you also have rolled lips.
to the OP, you have a better than even chance of having the tire rub against
the wheel arch. i think you may be okay on the inside (nut) but since you
need to account for individual vehicle variables (shocks, springs, etc) it's a
bit of a gamble. when you approach the extreme measures of acceptable
fitment, you need to ask yourself if you want to gamble.
my suggestion is to avoid the 245, unless you're prepared to roll your lips
as your plan B. you may avoid this if you use 235s but still, your selection
of tire model (profile variances) will determine if it's a go/no-go.
you say you swapped out the springs but didn't identify spring rate or overall
length difference.
the staggered combinations you listed, and their pairings, would indicate
that their overall rolling distance differentials will not create problems for your
cruise, speedo or odo (all within 1+- %)

Raymond, you are correct. This is why I started this thread. I am not prepared to roll my lips, I don't know how. This is what I swapped out.
This is a standard part in the MB suspension. (Not trying to insult your intelligence) Depending on what vehicle you have, you can order smaller pads to lower your vehicle without having to do any extreme modifications. I went 9mm in the front, 5 mm in the back. I think originally, the pads were 21mm in the front and 17mm in the rear. After putting the 18's on it looked like a 4x4! I didn't touch the springs. I swapped out these pads and did an alignment.
45ACP tried to help me out, but I'm pretty sure his E55 suspension is different from mine. I've read that 245 in the front is standard for E55's, but not for my E320.
So what I'm getting from you guys so far is I should just go the safe route. 235/35/19 in the front, and 265/30/19 in the rear, or can I go 275 in the rear Raymond with 235 in the front?
If there's anyone out there with an 1997-1999 E320 W210, that has 19 inch rims with the specs I've listed above, I'd appreciate it if you let me know what tires you're running, what problems you've run into, and possibly post some pics for me. Please be specific, do you have a drop or not, what's your offset? THANKS!!

300E a couple 1994 w124wagon E320 Wagon/,1971MGB Track/Rally, MG Midget Autocross ,2000 E320 wagon.
You won't
love your E class anymore when you install the 19's
So it is a moot point
And I really mean that in the classical sense of the phrase.

I'm running 245/35/19 front, 275/30/19 in the rear. with H&R's & #1 pads.
The front rubs on the inside when i hit a hard bump (no visual damage to the tire though).
Before these new tires I was running 235's in the front with no rubbing what so ever. 2001 E320 Sport (W210)

Unless this kit is different from what KW sells online, in their catalog and what other owners have installed it is not a coil-over setup in the traditional sense, coil spring over the shock, but an adjustable spring sitting in the spring perch with a shock absorber in its normal position. Not sure why KW and others call this setup a coil-over as it is not. But then again, I guess they have to call it something other than OEE to make it special.

Tires for E350 W212
I realize this is an old, but ongoing thread, so here goes:
I get my car’s “shoes” at Wheel Works in San Francisco for the past 30 years.
I wouldn’t go anywhere else.
WW has taken care of all my vehicles over the years, including a Jaguar X6, 2 E320 Wagons,
a 300CE Coupe & my current E350 4Matic 2011
Wagon.
The Manager recommends Bridgestone
Turanzas in 245/45/17” for the 2011 E Wagon & he advises me to avoid low profile tires as the aluminum alloy rims are easily bent with LP tires
Just wanted to share my experience with WW,
& to say how satisfied I am with the tire choices
WW recommends.
Rotation, Balancing & Alignment are quarterly
maintenance tasks at WW which keep the Wagon in top shape…

DEFECTVE SAM on W212 E350 Wagon
SORRY
I THOUGHT I WAS IN THE W212 THREAD ON COMMON ISSUES ON E’s
Within a month of buying my pre-owned 2011 E350 W212 Wagon from Mercedes Santa Rosa in 12/2020, it broke down & had to be towed. We
thought it was the battery dying, but AAA tested & said the battery was good.
After many hours of research & diagnostic testing at my Indy MB Shop in San Francisco which cost me over $900 in labor, it was discovered that the
Front SAM (Satellite module) had died.
My Indy Shop charged me 10 hours of very expensive diagnostic time to FINALLY deduce that the SAM needed replacing.
AND, only MB shops can install the Satellite hook-up!
Indy Shops are frozen out.!
and, FORGET “DO IT YOURSELFING”!!!
MB Santa Rosa ponied up the $800 new SAM,
& my Indy Shop charged me $300 to install the part I brought to them.
Just be aware that the Satellite Installation has to be done at your dealer’s shop.
Just a friendly heads up!
