New engine mounts...no more vibration
Replaced my engine mounts today, including the tranny mount. Now my vibration that occurred while stopped in drive is no longer there. Fairly easy, as long as you have the car up on a lift. The only difficult part was removing the two upper bolts on the mounts as space is tight up there. My engine now sits much higher in the engine bay. This explains why: (New on left, old on right.)

Figured it out by finding some oil on the carport floor under the front right wheel. These front mounts are filled with some sort of oil/gel. Then started checking some posts by others on the web and talking with my parts guy here at the local MB dealer. All,things started pointed to bad mounts. The crowbar method probably won't work. Even revving the engine in neutral didn't show any appreciable engine movement. Replacing these really made a big difference in the ride too.

I had the exact symptons that you describe. I suspect if it were your injectors causing the vibration, it would still vibrate out of drive, or even while in park for that matter. After fixing my problem, I would bet it is your motor mounts. Keep us posted on the results if you change out your motor mounts. Good luck.

It's good you you replaced those engine mounts. Mine got weak, and as my wife drove over a ramp in a parking garage, the car bounced a bit, and the engine hit and sliced the power steering lines. That repair was big bucks! MB relocated the new PS lines. It's a known problem.
