On my car, its been 3 months and probably close to 5,000 miles and I'm happy to report it has been great with no ill effects.

The ride is a bit stiffer, but not bad. I have had a number of BMWs before this car and this now has an M5 feel to it.

It's been approx 7-8,000 miles of fall and winter driving and no ill effects. Put the summer tires (18" sport package wheels that say AMG on them) on a few weeks ago and looks and rides great. I do plan to add the camber correction bolts to remove some front camber. The camber is not that bad, but I think it is a good idea.

I have a non sport package 4matic car and used the H&R spring for the non sports package.

Hey, thanks for responding so fast, i am so confused with my car, because it is a 08 e350 4matic sport, but not the amg sport, so mine came with the 18" multu spoke wheels, the bumper is almost the same as stock just a little different fog light grille. I have the rear bumper with the dual exhaust showing, but i really think the suspension is exactly the same as yours, the amg 4 matic is a pinch lower, does anyone have any thoughts on this.

Hello, i just lowered mine using the factory sport springs from the rwd e350 sport model, the front wheels just about tuck a 1/4 of and inch in the front, the problem i have is a good amount of negative camber about 2-1/2 degree on one side and 3 on the other, i was wondering if you added the camber correction bolts and if it helped, thanks

I bought the camber bolts after I did the drop and still need to install them. The inside tire wear wasn't bad on my snow tires this past winter so I haven't been in too much of a hurry. I can slide a finger between to top of my tires and the bottom of the fender - both front and rear. I think you are getting more drop with the factory sport springs as they are softer sprung (more compression) than the H&Rs and therefore more camber.

BTW, I prob have 15,000 miles on the car after installing the H&Rs.

I installed the H&R Springs (29324-2) on my 2006 E350 4matic 2 months, and 3200 miles ago with no ill effects. In the rear we had to remove the tabs in the camber adjust slots, and also elongate the holes in the rear sub-frame for enough toe adjustment to put the rear end within factory spec. I purchased the MB camber bolts (220 990 00 99) to get the front camber back in factory spec.

Just as a disclaimer of sorts, I NASA road course drive an E46 M3 and also manage a performance shop, so I know a little about suspensions.

The springs are stiffer than stock obviously, but the ride doesn't hammer you over bumps, nor does the ride quality drastically diminish. The car is a bit more nimble and the under-steer change is minimal and predictable.

I drove the car from Columbus, Ohio to Kansas City and back just days after the installation and was very pleased, especially when I had the cruise set at 80mph for several hundred miles.

I used to race an 95 e36 M3 LTW in BMW Club Racing. We installed a custom built and stroked 3.4 liter S54 with Motec and the GTR widebody kit. fun car.

It's been just over a year and prob 20,000 miles on the H&Rs with no ill effects to report after installing the H&Rs on the W211 4matic. I am very happy with it.

I have attached some pictures
http://www.flickr.com/photos/yas2300/

also is there any way i can have uniform drop around all 4 corners because at the moment the rear is dropped more than front. also, passenger rear seems to be dropped more than driver side rear. i am a total noob so i am not sure if the installer has put back the spacers that came out or its just normal and thats how it supposed to look.

next week i am getting my bumper cutout for trapezoid exhaust tips.

thanks everyone for your help

don't look at the space above the front and rear tires and compare space and equate that to "drop". You need to measure before and after as the front will show more space on top of the wheel well.

Did the shop reinstall the plastic spacers in top of the rear springs? That can be another 1/2 inch if I remember correctly.

alright so i went back to the shop today and i checked the spacers were installed and everything seems to be under proper specs. But the passenger side is exactly 0.23 inch lowered more than the driver rear side. And my mechanic concluded that the only thing could be wrong here is the rear spring, one spring is shorter than the other. i can live with 0.23inch difference, i will change them later. i ll try to just get one rear spring from H&r again.

i dont know if there is any other alternative to bring them both at one height. i suggested putting an extra spacer but he said that the spring wouldnt hold the spacer and over time it would just slip off

What's the height with someone in the driver's seat? I think it's designed to have a driver.

so i checked when the driver is sitting the rear does not equate to the same difference. the right side remains to be more lowered than left. 0.23inch more lowered.

So what are my options here??
1.does the spring pads wear out over time. (solution: get a new ones)
2. use thicker spring pads on the right side (i dont know if mb makes them or if i can even use the universal ones)
3. use spacers to bring out rear wheels.
is there anything other than above options.

what would you recommend??
i dont know whenever i look at my car it bothers me.

thank you for taking out time to help me out..

Great Information

I know this thread is old but the info is great. I ordered the H&R Springs and my mechanic said he would be happy to install them. I understand the camber can be off and seems easily corrected with the camber kit in the front but the rear sounds to be a bit more complex. Do any of you have any new wisdom in this regard? Thanks!

Great thread everybody. I just bought an '04 4Matic Wagon today. I'm actually looking to RAISE the rear ride height by about an inch in order to clear my steep driveway. I worked in a lower purchase price for the car because it needs new rear shocks.
I'm planning on also switching out to a slightly larger diameter tire to further raise the ride height. I'm hoping that between the new rear shocks, slightly larger diameter tires, and adding rear spring pads will address this extra inch. Does anybody know how many rear spring pads they come stock, and how many more I can add to this?

In my searching what I've found is that you cannot add multiple spacers. You can get the largest one which is 21mm and replace the one that is there. The problem is that you do not know what size is there now so by replacing, you may not net a whole inch. It may be best to look for coilovers to fit your vehicle. Good luck
