Retrofiting Kenwood dnx8120 in 04_E320_4M

I just finished retrofitting a DNX7120 into my 02_ML320 with GPS, BT, DVD, iPod, USB, etc. [and I love it]
Now I need some guidance and directions on how to go ahead with my 04_E320_4M.
The stock HU I have on the E320 seems to be a basic Audio50 w/o Nav, no fancy Bose or HK [so, it should be easier than other later models or with more sound syst], AGW in the trunk.
I need some directions as to:
- will an SRS message be triggered by disconnecting the HU? if yes what should I about it?
- need the pin out/ wiring diagr for the HU and AGW [konigstiger?]
[I'm not keen about a subwoofer or amplifier, I want to keep the stock speakers]
I've been searching some other forums and lately this one for a couple of weeks and I don't seem to get anywhere ...

Just a quick update on the topic, some tiny progress today ...

Hard to get some info to go ahead with this mod and I don't seem to make a huge progress. Even though there are some other memebers that succesfully did this mod, seems that nobody had to deal with this stupid combination of Audio 50 and AGW in the trunk. Everybody that had the Audio 50 APS or the Comand had an antenna in the dash. I don't.The other ones had E55s, mine is an E320 [big difference in wiring harness I guess]. I still believe it should be easier to mod an E320 rather than an E55 that also has Bose, HK, ...

And I had such a nice experience doing the same mod in my 2002 ML320.

But I did tested the DNX8120 on the weekend and everything appears to work properly. I actually changed the original start-up Kenwood logo with a customized MB one, and I updated the software version and the maps on the NAV.

The original HU is an Audio50 [Harman/Becker 6069] w/o nav, no CDChanger, no Bose, HK subs or amps, no APS, no Comand. There is an AGW in the trunk.

The info I found so far about retrofitting W211s is from EU and most of the stuff is from UK. Since the Audio50 was never used in EU it appears that nobody can give me any idea how to proceed. Other people doing a retrofit had either the Audio10, Audio20, Audio50 APS or the Comand, all being quite different that my Audio50. I also couldn't find any wiring diagram for my car for Audio50 and AGW [why is this such a gost]. Unlike the other HUs mine doesn't have an integrated amp and tuner, so, I don't have an antenna cable in the dash at all.

Over the weekend I removed the Audio 50 to identify the connections and I put back everything afterwards. I also looked into the AGW connections in the trunk [see attached pics of fron and back of the Audio 50 and my sketch of wiring diagram].

There are just 2 D2B wires at the back of the Audio50, 1 brown wire [ground], 1 pink wire [wakeup] and 1 brown/red wire [12V cont]. Another connector [unused] at the back of the HU is a blue [Fakra type?] connector that I guess is for NAV. Since I don't have NAV this is unused and no antenna present.

OK, today some progress: found the right antenna cable [2115401110] that needs to go to the dash, and the ant amp [is in the left C-pillar] that needs a power wire from the new HU.
It looks like I'll have to run some wires now for the speakers, for CANBUS [I want to retain the SWC], the antenna cable, and the wire to power up the ant amp. Quite a bit of wires ...

Here are some pics of the HU and my wiring diagram so far.

To retain the steering wheel controls I'm planning to use a UNI CAN-BUS from Connects2 that I still have to buy, so, if I don't quit sometime soon I'll come back with another update.

OK, just a quick progress update:

- more forum research, received very helpfull info [thanks Richard from mercupgrades and 43sqd from benzworld]
- the antenna cable [2115401110] that needs to go to the dash, needs an adaptor 40-EU10 [I just ordered one] and a cable extension ~15ft long with DIN standard terminals [just ordered one]
- ordered Connects2 facia inst. kit [from UK]
- ordered Connects2 UNI-CANBUS w/ patch lead for Kenwood [from UK]
- bought speaker wires and connectors
- waiting now for all these things to arrive

It looks like I'll have to run some wires now for the speakers, for CANBUS [I want to retain the SWC], the antenna cable/extension, the mute wire, and the wire to power up the ant amp. Quite a bit of wires ..
